Great Backboard for the Buck
This is a really nice backboard. I mounted this on the Spalding 316 U-turn lift system on the front wall of my garage. How you mount this makes all the difference in how "responsive" the backboard is. A flimsy or loose mount will make it seem dead. I highly recommend the U-turn lift as it is rock solid and easy to adjust. Two factors I considered when purchasing this backboard vs. the 52" board (maximum the U-turn lift will take). First was price. The 52" costs another 50% over the 48". Those 2 extra inches on each side of the board weren't worth the extra cost. The other factor was the color of the stripes on the board. My garage is white. The stripes on this board are red and stand out very nicely on the white garage. The stripes on the 52" are white and would be lost in the white background (my 9 year old daughter pointed this out to me). You will need another person to help hold the board up while aligning the mounting bolts. The instructions even say that two people are required. Also, ream out the mounting holes so the main mounting bolts will slide through easily. Unless you will never have younger players, get an adjustable mount. The U-turn lift is more expensive, but it is worth the extra bucks for the extra strength.

Works fine. I mounted mine on the roof with the Huffy/Spalding universal kit. Some problems with the universal kit, critical parts missing. Amazon and Spalding were both responsive. Board seems a little shaky at first, and I saw that in the comments. Elevator mount relies on all mounting at the boards center. I also noticed vibration after installation, when grabbed by the edges, but there was very little vibration from shooting activity with the ball. Center area is very stable. Since I roof mounted, I wanted extension beyond my new gutters, and this mount does that well. There is a 4" wide by 22" U channel that mounts on roof. It runs verticle so you can only hit your rafter or truss on one side. I glued a short 2x4 flat in the soffit to bolt the other side to. I did not want the main mount to rely on lag bolts into 1/2" plywood, only. On the two braces, since they just stabilize, I did not do this. It seems very secure. Take your time and understand the directions well, before proceeding.

Great replacement for faded pool backboard
Purchased as replacement for existing Huffy backboard with logo that faded & peeled away over time (similar E79PHE2 & E79PHOS were no longer in stock at Competitive Edge). I mounted it to existing Huffy Hydra Rib curved silver pole (2.5" OD - see drawing at link below) inserted beside my pool thru the decking. Backboard holes for mounting bolts are spaced 3" W x 2.5" H - same as my pole (couldn't find this info on any site). Could have easily spent $400+ on a full backboard and pole for fixed pool install. Thinner polycarbonate backboard isn't an issue since we typically use a lighter weight volleyball in the pool. Finally got this response from Spalding - a week after installing my backboard from Amazon: "We recently went out of the pool business. However, we have a limited number of parts for the pool systems. The only replacement part we carry anymore for that particular pool unit is part #79pher. It is a backboard and rim combo set. It is $136.95 and our prices include shipping. You can order this directly by calling 1-800-558-5234."Drawing of existing pole: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRNIvVqb4YVxNUzqmYEAoeU3-yferZOLjtd2KWzrNrNf8JWssSXQA

Std Backboard - Good directions.
Pretty reasonable price but know the std replacement is smaller then the oversized rims you see in many Culdesacsz. It will take you a good couple hours to replace but the instructions ar good for almost all types of bases. The parts are easy to install as long as you have a solid pliers and wrench. Suggest mounting it on the ground - use a saw horse or something to balance the pole if possible. Also save your old parts if you run into problems. Once you do this onceyou could probably do it faster. Pay close attention to the exact parts to use amd steps - otherwise you will have to redo some of the screws. All in all a solid choice.

Excellent backboard for the price
This backboard is well worth the price. I considered purchasing several other, more expensive, backboards before deciding to go with this one. It was easy to install. I used a 4-foot piece of pre-drilled square steel stock from Home Depot ($20) and mounted the bar vertically to my garage. Then, using only the hardware supplied with this backboard (and two 4" bolts), I was able to attach the backboard to the vertical bar. You don't need to purchase the attachment kit, which several reviews indicated was not worth the purchase price. With the square stock bar, which happens to be exactly the right width, I was able to make the rim be adjustable from about 7.5 feet high to a full 10 feet. For now, I mounted the backboard at the lowest setting on the vertical bar for my young son, and can raise it easily as he grows. So far, this backboard has led to hours of fun with people of all ages. It is solid, looks good, and was easy to install. For the money, this was a great buy, and I would recommend it.
