This eyecup is a fantastic upgrade for the Sony A6700. I am very glad I ordered this. The stock eye cup is so small when you put your eye against it you almost have to turn your head sideways or look at it from weird angles to use it, so its very uncomfortable. Also light easily can sneak in and obscure your view of the EVF when you are trying to take shots outside and see the image clearly when using the stock a7IV eyecup. This replacement eyecup solves both of these problems by making the eyecup comfortable and so your nose does not touch the screen and it also completely blocks out the light. Its only 14 bucks to solve the problem, and it literally makes the camera feel so much better. Some people complain it takes their eyes too far from the viewfinder, but since it is comfortable rubber you can just press your eye in a bit and that solves that problem, also the viewfinder is easy to see even without pressing in IMHO. You are never going to be able to have a perfect setup of eyecup to evf, so this is prob as close as you could get for the perfect stock eyecup for the a7IV. I think generally this will work for most people and they will be very happy with it. How to install: Its very easy to install, you just pinch the two buttons on the bottom of the stock a7iv rubber eyecup and slide it up and off (look closely and you wills see the little levers to pinch), then you slide the new eye cup on (from the top down) and it clicks in to place perfectly.

Sony a7iv, it fits like factory. One person recorded a video review saying it is loose, and that did make me think waste of time maybe? I said, it is 13bucks who cares.I Put it on, it clicked right into place and felt as if it was made by Sony for the a7iv( other models I can not verify). Either that guy got a bad one, or he destroyed his view finder from being rough cleaning it or taking it on and off. It bugs me because reviews like that make people not want to try it. Thing is awesome, greatly improves the view finder and I have to say….the camera looks even better. My factory one is still brand new still and it will stay in my bag as a back up. For $13 bux I mean seriously. The money we All spend on dumb gear and filters or overpriced specialty lenses that cost more than a macbook pro, how can you not at least try. Someone said it gets in the way with a certain gimbal…and? Ill take it off if that happens. I use the view finder with EVERY single photo, so Hope this helps someone who saw the same review.

Works as intended and looks great but the eyecup is designed awkwardly. Most eyecups use a really soft silicone that sort of cradles your eye socket. This eye cup is made of a harder material that is angled directly towards your eye socket and jabs into your skin (or glasses). It is the most uncomfortable eyecup I've ever used. The only really benefit you get from it is that it provides more distance from the viewfinder so your nose isn't touching the camera. The other downside (but was expected) is that you lose your hot-shoe so you have to sacrifice your thumb grip if you use one. I've found that overall I get more benefit from having a thumb-grip than I do from this eyecup. Overall I can't say that I recommend this unless you really need an eyecup but there are other options that don't take up your hot shoe.

Using this on my Sony A7r III. Provides good coverage when using it outside. It does stick out a bit more than the stock eye cap but since it's flexible and soft it doesn't get in the way when packing the camera. No complaints. If you are looking for a bigger eyecups then I would recommend this.

Does not get in the way of my glasses and stops stray light from interfering with my viewfinder.
