Power Supply, High Efficiency OEM Replacement Wall Mount Adapter for CATV Drop Amplifiers 15V 500mA (0.5A) with F-Type Connection, DoE Level VI Rated

I bought this as a replacement for my old CATV power adapter that finally gave up after years of service. This one plugged right in and worked immediately — no weird buzzing, no overheating, no “is it actually charging?” moments. It’s lightweight but feels sturdy enough to last. Efficiency-wise, it’s solid — doesn’t get hot even after hours of use, and I swear my setup actually runs smoother now. Basically, it’s not an exciting purchase, but it’s the kind of quiet hero you forget about until you realize how much you needed it. If you need a no-drama, reliable replacement, this one’s it.

Needed to replace the power supply for a ppc evolution signal amplifier that had broken, the part number I was trying to replace on the power supply was mw41-1500400. I could not find a replacement anywhere, but this power supply works! Everything powered up right away. The trick is to make sure you read the label on your old power supply you’re trying to replace and make sure the new one has at least equivalent specs. For the input on the broken one I needed at least 120v and 60hz. This new one I’m leaving the review on had a range of 100-240v and 50-60hz. All good there! For the output on the old broken one it was 15v and 400ma. The key for the new one is making sure it’s 15v exactly and then at least 400ma or higher. The milliampere (ma) cannot be lower or it won’t work. This new power supply I’m leaving the review on was 15v and 500ma (also may be shown as .5a). All good there as well! Hopefully this helps someone out there cause it was not easy to figure this out on my own not knowing much about this, but was a super easy fix with the right part! Also saved money not having to call out a technician so I’m happy! Good luck!

This SMPS adapter appears to be a good replacement for the original transformer-based unit, which failed after the filter capacitor degraded and caused excessive ripple (a classic issue - it can be repaired by replacing the capacitor and kept as a backup). The output voltage is stable and clean at 14.75 V with no load (slightly low but still within specifications) and it works well with the EVO1-9-U/U amplifier. Time will tell how it performs over the long term and whether it proves to be reliable and well-built.

This unit is working great. Picture clarity significantly improved throughout the house as compared to the best days of our prior unit when it was operating. Failure of our EVO-PS15400 power supply drove us to find this replacement. The EVO PS was original equipment for powering our PPC Active Return EVO1-9-U/U. This distributes cable and/or antenna signal to 9 locations throughout the house. Failure symptoms started with no signal on physically distant TV's and progressed to a constant clicking sound coming from the PPC unit, at which point we permanently powered down the unit. The EVO PS tested at 21.5v, confirming the need to replace. This unit's rating of 500mA is acceptable. We initially sought Xfinity replacement but visiting a store found they are now only stocked on the repair trucks, so it's a service call. Timing drove our choice to purchase from Amazon. Easy & good fix.
