Brilliant as usual

Rick Riordan is on stellar form in this latest instalment of the saga of Percy Jackson. It's smart, laugh out loud funny & manages to sneakily inform readers about Greek gods' attributes, neuroses & toenails. I love all his books & I'm a grownup. Everyone roots for Percy. NB: The events in this story take place before the Trials of Apollo.

I love the Percy Jackson series and I was so happy when I heard there was going to be a new one it was a great book and I would definitely recommend it

A fabulous present for my nephew - A great Percy Jackson book to add to his collection. He was extremely delighted with this book.

It’s hard to believe that we would ever get to see Percy Jackson’s story continue after all of the life-threatening adventures he’s had to save the world, but it really is a great return. Now a high schooler and trying to live a more-normal life, Percy learns he has to get three “god-given” recommendation letters for him to get into the university he wants to go to. Reluctantly, he accepts his challenge with no other choice and he’ll have Annabeth and Grover by his side as they’re on the quest to retrieve a missing goblet.Off the bat from someone who’s read all of the “PJ” books including the “Heroes of Olympus” series, “Chalice” is an amazing continuation of Percy’s story that delivers something so special with one sore spot. While the idea of Percy questing just so he can get into a preferred college seems pretty ludicrous given how many times he risked his life for the gods, it does still give us moments of the trio adventuring that are a bit of nostalgic memories. It certainly isn’t as action heavy as you might expect, yet the story has a nice swift pace. It’s a near-perfect return for the son of Poseidon that’s just started. <b>A (95%/Outstanding)</b>

Having read the original series and “Heroes of Olympus” recently, I was glad to know Rick was writing a new book. As always, the book was funny and made some references to the other series. Highly recommend it.(SPOILERS AHEAD) I also enjoyed a lot the fact that is story was more self contained and had lower stakes: he was not trying to save the world, but to achieve something that personally was perhaps even more important.

Herrliches Buch! Hab mich so oft fast totgelacht! Gewohnt lustig, mega spannend und nebenbei lernt man jede Menge über die griechische Mythologie! Absolut lesenswert, obwohl es schon die x-te Fortsetzung der Percy Jackson Serie ist! Riordan hält die Qualität seiner Bücher weiterhin!
