CilioBari Glass and Stainless Steel Spice and Pepper Mill, 5.5-Inch

My last salt shaker got plugged this summer because of all the humidity and it never worked properly after, despite numerous cleanings. So, I bought this one to use as a salt shaker, with bigger chunks of salt to grind (it does NOT work with fine salt). It's fancy enough to sit on my table with fine china, but does not look out of place with every day dishes. It works perfectly well, although you do need two hands to operate it.

This is what is used at Piada. I was checking it out because of the high quality. The manager explained that it's easy to use because of the ceramic grinding disks. I ordered one and it's great!

I bought this from Amazon less than two months ago and it has already failed. The stainless steel ring that you grasp with one hand as you twist the glass pepper container with the other to grind now slides freely over the underlying plastic and does not turn the grinding mechanism. The grinder is now pretty much useless. Avoid this product.

I really liked the design, size and price of this item. However, after 10 months of use, I'm having the same product failure as another reviewer. The stainless steel ring you grasp as you twist the glass pepper container now slides freely over the underlying plastic and no longer turns the grinding mechanism.
