Works well, good price

Worked perfectly as a replacement for a Phillips 62-75 mfd 250v start capacitor for my garage door! Door would no longer open and motor just hummed. I was sceptical but replaced with this and up and running!

Purchased this to replace an equivalent rated capacitor for gate motor that was failing with age. the product listing at time of purchase says this is a run/start capacitor. The unit is quite different from the old capacitor, about the size of a C/D sized battery compared the old one about the size of a small soda. After install, cycled the gate several times and then a loud explosion. Opened the unit to see the part had blown and was scorching hot. Took a closer look to see this is stamped as a start cap, not run also. Replaced with a run labelled cap that also physically matched the older larger cap and continued weeks of usage no issues. There isn't so much a problem with this part in use as a start cap for intermittent use but being also labelled as a run capacitor with consistent usage is definitely not correct.

Capacitor is smaller in length+circumference not good for fitting motors..,have to wrap with 3/16 rubber for slack which tell me it's cheap and won't last.. .will see....

This item solved my compressor motor issue after finding the issue. Pretty much an exact replacement for the original capacitor that went out on motor.
