A hardy perennial that is often grown as an annual in colder areas. The foliage has a sweet aroma and is used in Mediterranean cooking. Cultivation Sow the seeds indoors from Feb - June on a good quality seed compost and cover very lightly with compost. Plave in a propagator or polythene bag and maintain a temp of between 65 and 70 deg C to aid germination which can take upto 3 weeks or more. When large enough to handle prick the seedlings out and transplant into 3" pots prior to hardening off once all risk of frost has passed. Finally plant out in a well drained soil in a sunny position.
