National Geographic Milky Way Wall Map (31.25 x 20.25 in) (National Geographic Reference Map)

I have this up in my hallway. Several people have already commented on it. It has lots of small paragraphs of information around its edge that I like to just stop and read about. At the top it has a "side-view" of the Milky Way called the Galactic Latitude. Of course, it has a pointer pointing to "We are here" in the mass scheme of the billions of stars and planets. Really beautiful.

Awesome, absolutely beautiful. It is a perfect complement to my National Geographic poster of the universe which is the same size. I can stare at it for hours. If you are an amateur astronomer and or Trekkie like me you must have these.

Very enjoyable to view the Milky Way as it looks from afar. Has important locations identified. Interesting notes surround the depiction of our home galaxy. Excellent!

It was really nice, but I was surprised at how thin the paper was for the price. The poster came damaged along the top edge, like shown in the picture someone else posted, but still the content was great. Maybe the price is so high due to all the refunds they have to give, idk. I have the poster displayed against a dark background on a bulletin board in my classroom, so you don’t notice the wrinkles along the top that easily.

for the first time, i can see what my Galactic Address is and am awed by the sheer size and distances in the Milky WAy. i have read about it but the visual picture is amazing. now i understand where everything is and can see the directions of objects especially Orion. i now know that i am looking out into space not into the core of the galazy when i see Orion. i hope oneday mankind will be able to actually travel outside the Milky Way and take a picture of it. wish it could be me.

I like Details in a Milky Way Map... L.B. Also, like Research and Exploration...

Makes one feel insignificant when considering one self's place in the galaxy. The chart is nicely done and has a good amount of detail.

The poster is very nice and it arrived well packed (maybe this is the reason ov the high price). As I mentioned in the title, in my opinion it is a bit overpriced.

It is a lovely poster - mine arrived in mint condition- and the educational stuff on the border is a fascinating read. To be honest I feel it is grossly overpriced. Perhaps that's due to the NG branding - they could price this in a lower bracket.

The map is very small. The resolution is not great. But most importantly, there is extremely low amount of info (if you take into account that there is a lot of stuff in a galaxy to mention :-)) Really not useful
