Wiha demolition screwdrivers, beat on them over torque them with a wrench on rusty screws. Old electrical panel box screws. They are made to take abuse like your alcoholic side piece.

Wiha may have recently dropped their quality a tad, but those heavy duty screwdrivers do not seem to have been affected. I've had them for some time now and so far they have been indestructible.

These Wiha screwdrivers are very nice. They are heavier than your standard screwdriver because the shaft goes all the way through the handle into the end. They have a number of design features I love. There are 2 flats molded into the handle to prevent it from rolling off. The handle also has angled flats to help it stay put but its' rounded enough to be comfortable to hold and use. There's a "nut" at the base of the handle so you can use a wrench and really apply some strength to screws. The butt end of the screwdriver is metal and the screwdriver shaft goes all the way through the handle so you can really hit it. This is extremely useful when trying to take out a stripped or rusty screw. I did this all the time with another screwdriver until it broke. Its' the fastest and easiest way to take out a stubborn screw. For this feature alone, this screwdriver is worth it. The shaft is very strong and thicker than my other screwdrivers for the same bits. This is a premium screwdriver and it really shows.

The Wiha Screwdriver set is comprised of a slotted (8 mm) and a Phillip’s head (PH2). These are no nonsense tools with the slotted weighing in at 246 grams (over half a pound!) and the Phillip’s head 150 grams. Each screwdriver has a hardened head that is brazed onto the shaft. They are made in Germany and it shows throughout the design. The handle is over-molded with a two-tone rubber like plastic. You can pick these up in the dark and recognize them. The non-bit end is rounded steel, which is very useful for persuasion by hammer techniques. There is no doubt these tools will be the mainstay of your tool bag. The shaft is milled with a hex shape so you can add more torque with a wrench. This feature is not as good as it sounds for the head will walk off the screw if too much torque is applied. Engineering flats are molded into the plastic handle to prevent the tools from rolling about in the workspace. Top rating.

I love the through shank on these that allows a good amount of beating to happen without tearing up the handle. I also mount a conduit reamer to the hex shank to be used as an all-around conduit installation screwdriver. Also a solid brand with a good history of quality tools. Not "made in China" is a plus.
