My external hard drive is a 4 tb . I want to use this to pulg my hard drive and my wireless headphones that use a usb Transmitter. Will this work ?

Please note that since the hub is not powered via an external adapter it draws all its power from the computer's USB port. Therefore the current cannot exceed 0.9 Amps among all the ports. To ensure a stable connection, we would suggest not using this hub with high power consumption devices such as large-capacity hard drives. For a stable connection, avoid connecting devices that exceed a total of 900 mA. Can this be used with 2.0

Simple answer: yes. More detailed answer: If you plug this hub into a USB 2.0 port on your PC it will function just fine as a USB 2.0 hub (not USB 3.0). If you plug this into a USB 3.0 port on your PC you can plug both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 devices in and they will work correctly (USB 3.0 devices will work as 3.0 devices at the higher USB 3.0 speed; USB 2.0 devices will work as 2.0 devices at the lower USB 2.0 speed). Considering the price, size, and quality of this hub, I'd recommend buying this over a USB 2.0 hub even if you only intend to use it with USB 2.0 ports and devices -- it's only a few dollars more.

Does the cheap model that doesn't come with external power source have a USB plug for adding wall power?

For those who might be unaware, some USB devices require a powered USB hub. So it's not that this hub doesn't require external power, but that it doesn't offer it as an option and therefore supports fewer devices.

Does it work well with apple charging cables, does it charge fast?

It charges my devices just fine. It's just not a fast charger. I can have my android watch, fitbit, and logitech gaming headset charging at the same time and they all charge just fine though.

Cheap and fast

I have a few of the USB A cable version, and they are great. I have a new laptop which mainly has USB C sockets, and this version with a USB C cable is just as good. All the ports on this are USB A. I like the sturdy lightweight plastic design; it doesn't feel cheap. Be aware that it doesn't pass a lot of power. Ok for usb sticks, usb ssd drives (it will transfer files fast), plus wireless mouse dongles, usb mouse and keyboard, logitech clicker, etc. But it won't power an external spinning hard drive. I think the total max current it can pass is 0.9 amp, so keep that in mind.

Great value and is super fast now

Works really well, since moving to a USB C version (Used to have the general USB 3) and plugging into one of the many spare ports I had on the back of my my Mac Studio, all the drives are running faster and have more spare ports should I want them. The extra length of the cable also makes all the difference so well worth the price.
