Growing up in Detroit in a German immigrant, automotive, engineering family - workmanship and quality were EVERYTHING - from the exacting straightness and depth of your garden rows to the quality, heft & balance of your tools - to the strict maintenance of your equipment & vehicles. I am an admitted quality snob, and a non-reviewer of goods purchased. I thought about submitting a review after the initial pleasure of the quality of product received (and the sweet note from the seller) - but not being the “reviewing” kind - did not. The repeated tactile pleasure of using these index cards on almost a daily basis - including moments ago - made me stop and take the time to learn how to write and post my first review. I read a few prior reviews to get a feel of things - and someone wrote about them not being lined - which was a little horrifying to me at first, because of my terrible handwriting. But if you write on the card while it’s positioned on a legal pad or lined paper, the lines in the background somehow - at least in my case - act without any concerted effort as a guide. Anyway, kudos to the seller on all accounts. It’s wonderful (and rare these days) to be able to support and recommend a small business owner providing such an outstanding product and service.

I purchased these for simple sketching, and studies of various things that I am working on my skills. I like water color washes, or pen and ink, zentangles as well as pencil sketching. EXCELLENT for mobile art, as I take a bundle of these with me when I visit the park, zoo or any site I will be observing. They are nice enough to share my sketches with friends. Folded in half, they provide a nice base for personalized greeting card. I will be using a lot of these. EXCELLENT product for a good price. My finished art may need a more permanent base, but these are excellent tools for practice and shared ephemera pieces thar are temporary in nature. 🤗

I used the smaller size 3x5 for the ICAD (Index Card a Day) challenge. They are fantastic for mixed media. I even used watercolor ground on a few and was able to paint with watercolor with no problem, but they will accept watercolor without the watercolor ground base also. I just love these cards and ordered the other sizes too. For the price and the amount you get, it's a great deal. They were shipped super fast too. If you want sturdy, super thick index cards, these are the ones to buy. Make sure you get the 17pt ones if you want to use them for mixed media.

These cards are just as they say they are: thick and sturdy. They are an excellent buy for the money. I use mine for collage and other artwork. I am on my second round of buying these cards, fyi. Plus, the customer service is very good and there's a real person on the end of the line who talks to you and who owns the business. If you want to support small business, buy these products!

These index cards are wonderfully sturdy and thick. I have purchased index cards for years for many purposes. A few years ago I was shocked by the thinness of the cards found in major box stores. I was so happy to find these cards! They are thick enough to make button cards. Great cards. Thick not thin and not too thick.
