I did the same. Stick with the stage 1 a few more weeks and then move to stage 2.. I did notice that sleeping in the stage two helped as well(stretching out).. but then again it all depends on where yours is tight at. My was very tight on the inner thigh area. I’m now stage 3 M. With where the large for about a month.

They run big so I would go with a size medium. I am 5’6 and weight is 214 and I have a size Large and it fit snug but not uncomfortable. This is my second one. The first once I purchased was xxl but it turn out to be too loose. The size guide is off. I would suggest sizing down from your regular size
