After More Than 33 Years, I’d Buy It Again Without Hesitation
I’ve owned the Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor for more than 33 years, and it’s still performing as well today as when I first brought it home. That’s one of the highest compliments I can give any kitchen appliance. The first time I used it, I actually struggled getting the lid to lock — I pressed ‘on’ and nothing happened. I’m not usually a read-the-manual type 😂, but I finally checked the directions: you align the lid, push down, turn it left to lock, then turn it back right before pressing on. I did all that… and it still didn’t work. Turns out the real issue was that I hadn’t plugged it into the wall 😂. Once I plugged it into the wall, I’ve never had an issue since If you’re looking for one kitchen appliance that will truly earn its place on your countertop, this is it. As a chef, it’s not just another gadget, it’s an essential tool in my home kitchen. Like my KitchenAid mixer, it has become a permanent fixture because I reach for it almost every time I cook. Over the years, this food processor has dramatically reduced my prep time while delivering consistent, professional-quality results. I regularly use it to slice vegetables, shred cheese, chop onions, knead pizza and bread dough, make flaky pie crusts, prepare fresh pasta dough, purée soups and sauces, blend hummus, pesto, salsa, homemade mayonnaise, emulsify salad dressings, grind toasted nuts, make fresh breadcrumbs, and crush graham crackers or cookies for dessert crusts. It has handled thousands of batches over the years with dependable performance. One of my favorite chef tips is making vibrant basil oil. Many people end up with brown basil oil because heat and oxidation quickly dull its beautiful green color. Simply chill the bowl and blade before processing, then pulse fresh basil with olive oil. For an even brighter result, quickly blanch the basil first. Little techniques like this are where a quality food processor really shines. Another reason I love this machine is its versatility. I often finely chop mushrooms or zucchini and blend them into sauces, soups, meatballs, or meatloaf to add flavor and extra vegetables without changing the texture. If I run out of powdered sugar while baking, I simply process granulated sugar into a fine powder in seconds. During the holidays, it’s indispensable for grinding toasted nuts, preparing fillings, shredding vegetables, and handling larger batches with ease. The powerful 720-watt motor combined with the generous 14-cup capacity makes meal prep faster, easier, and more enjoyable. Whether I’m making flaky pie dough, silky hummus, creamy dressings, or fresh pesto, I know exactly what kind of results I’ll get every time. It consistently produces even textures while saving an incredible amount of time in the kitchen. As a chef, I rely on quality equipment because consistency matters. After more than 33 years of regular use, this is one of the rare home kitchen appliances that continues to deliver professional-level results every time I use it. After more than three decades with mine, I recently purchased this same model as a gift because I know firsthand how dependable it is. That’s probably the strongest recommendation I can give. If mine ever stopped working tomorrow after 33 years of faithful service, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Cuisinart. Five stars without hesitation.

Food processor
After researching what food processor does the best job, this was it. I can now quickly assemble food, and chop, shred etc. Love this heavy-duty machine. I also bought the accessory carrier to keep everything sharp and clean.

For first time buyers like me, this one meet all my needs perfectly
I spent about 6 hours researching a good processor. This is my first ever, and I never thought I needed one. I have used this about every other day for the past two weeks that I’ve had it. It’s the one appliance besides my coffee machines that I have on my precious kitchen counter real estate! One reason I even decided a good processor was worth looking into was to save me some wear and tear on my hands/wrists from all the chopping I do (stay at home mom here, and I do lots of cooking from scratch). As a first time food processor owner (with a high quality blender), I am glad I purchased a) a Cuisinart b) a 14 cup one (I have a husband and a 2 and 4 year old, so our meals Aren’t huge). I’m working more to batch cook and prep ahead of time, so this guy is my partner-in-crime. The things I most commonly have been making from this processor is hummus, sliced veggies, grated carrots (found a delicious shredded carrot salad with raisins and mayo/yogurt and pineapple) and shredded cheese. I plan on making some borscht, coleslaw, kale salad and dressing, and experimenting more with chopping herbs. Oh how I love shredding a big block of cheddar in 20 seconds flat (no sore hand afterwards)! Follow the manual’s instructions and freeze the cheddar to make it easier in your machine. Also, mozzarella is not recommended to shred on it for those pizza-making lovers). I made some chicken soup the other night and loved the time I saved with slicing the carrots and celery. I already feel the time I’m saving and the efficiency of this machine. Glad I sized up too, because that large block of cheese fills up the entire container! Also, coleslaw would easily do that with a half head of cabbage. For those curious, homemade hummus is a game changer. I’m not interested in eating hummus from the store, but always can’t get enough from Greek/middle eastern restaurants. Yeah, there is a difference (side note: you also have to put it the time to shell your chickpeas; which can be made easier with a little baking soda). For those who wonder about the aesthetics of this, it looks great on my counter BUT, the plastic isn’t dark like shown on These Amazon photos. I would say it’s just a hint darker than the clear plastic shown on the white models (I personally like the actual look better, and it’s just dark enough to probably make a beet stain stand out a bit less). This long review is giving you my experience so far with this beast machine, and I’m glad I went for it! I was nervous about the 14 cup models since going down the rabbit hole of Amazon reviews left me focusing on the negative ones, which doesn’t always give you a clear perspective on things. Many folks misuse these or doesn’t bother reading the manual. But this investment piece is something I plan on having around until my boys are grown up, so I’m hopefully saving myself a little bit of future tendinitis this way ;) in that respect, I am easy on the machine, hand wash it, and insert/snap on the pieces with care and love. For all you first time food processor owners-to-be, I say go for it! Go for the 14 cup! If anything disastrous happens, I’ll have it added to this review.

High quality product.
Got this for the wife a few months ago even though our old Cuisinart was still working but some of the plastic pieces were showing their age. This is a work horse whose components can be put in the dishwasher and easily cleaned. Gets used a lot at our house and it runs and looks like new after several months. Tough to beat this machine. Kind of the Toyota of food processors! Highly recommended.

Quality
Bought the 10 cup version of this one years ago , like right after electricity was invented . The motor still runs , it was the bowl that finally gave out and I could not get a new one . This one is bigger , more powerful , maybe slightly quieter , and appears to be made of the same quality materials

So far so good! Or great!
Really digging this thing so far! Easy to use, easy to clean, quality components, etc... The only thing I wish were a bit "better" is the storage of the additional blades/components. Since it's a dangerously sharp object(s) one has to be EXTRA careful of where to keep so you don't stick your hand in a drawer and risk looking your finger prints!

It's honestly gross how much I love this machine
I mostly wanted this food processor to make hummus. I'm not proud of the fact that I justified spending $168 on a food processor to save money on hummus. BUT, to be fair, I eat a LOT of hummus and this ended up being a gift from my mother in law (who is the best). So far it's made a lot of hummus, several doughs, and helped me prep for the frankly insane amount of salad I eat. There was a point in time where I took an almost meditative approach to prepping my salad vegetables. Not so anymore. Now I take pleasure in feeding vegetables into the chute and watching this thing cut and shred and slice into oblivion. I think the moment I really and truly fell in love with this machine though, is when I had to shred two blocks of cheese for a recipe (don't judge me). I was grumbling and getting ready to pull out my box grater when I remembered the shredding blade. Oh my god, watching this thing shred blocks of mozzarella and gruyere was beautiful to behold.

Best Food processor ever
I have owned a few less expensive Cuisinart versions, after using this unit at my son’s house I purchased one for myself. It is faster, quieter, easier to clean and operate. Love love it. Buy, you won’t be disappointed!

Best quality for your money
Prompt delivery. After my third inexpensive food processor I decided to upgrade to this Cuisinart food processor. I couldn't be happier! Very powerful motor. Even cuts. Makes meal prep a breeze. And very quiet. I highly recommend it.
