Comprehensive and Helpful
A fabulous introduction to salah prayer for children and bewildered adults (ie: me). I would have liked some acknowledgement of diversity issues; so, how would a Muslim with a physical disability pray, for example but this book provides a firm foundation for further exploration.

More focus on detail and spirituality than child-friendly instructions.
I hope my review helps parents to decide if this book of for their kids. The front cover design gives the impression the content will be colourful and simple to follow instructions for children, and the age guide said it was for 7-14yr olds. But I felt it was far from it.The GOOD:- Lots of detail and background about many aspects of salah: why we do wudu, the different positions, the qibla, adhan etc.- Few relevant references to ahadith, although some were not used in the right context. The BAD:- Personally I think the book goes into too much spiritual and mindfulness content for children younger than 12 years old. For parents wanting a simple introduction to salah and an easy to follow reference guide for their children, there are better books out there like the one by Gulam Sarwar.- Also the main purpose of the book, teaching salah, is reduced to a couple dozen number steps across 3 pages out of the 70 pages in the book. And the steps have no supporting pictures - for that you have to refer to the earlier section dedicated to the positions of salah.- Every image (black & white) is generic and sourced from the net. So EVERY SINGLE image is footnoted with a long weblink address (see photos) which I guess us to avoid copyright infringement. Some of the images don't even add value to the content and ruin the presentation of the text. Some parents may prefer the overly detailed and mindfulness content, as all children are of different abilities. But I was looking for something less overwhelming for my 10 year old to get them started on their path to performing salah and let them explore the spiritual side of it when they are a bit more mature.
