Great idea, bad execution
The idea of this toy is you take empty bullet cases it comes with that have springs inside, you put in a little plastic projectile which locks the spring and keeps the projectile in place, the fake primer on the back of the case pops out. You load these fake bullets into the detachable magazine, pull the trigger and in theory it fires the bullet and ejects the casing. However, the build is made out of cheap cheap plastic. The kind that used to be rampant at dollar stores in the 1990s and even dollar stores have seemed to abandoned. The kind of plastic that if say a kid were to squeeze this or drop it just once on the right surface, it would snap, crack, or break. The springs in this toy are not strong enough to properly work the casings from the magazine into the chamber then eject them properly. It either prematurely fires the projectile once in the chamber and jams, or fires it properly, then jams. Mine oddly now fires the bullet and with a second trigger pull ejects the casing (but only if there is only 1 bullet in the magazine despite the magazine holding 6 I believe,) so while this idea is brilliant and I believe it was better done with metal toy guns by Japanese companies in the 60s-80s, a cheap copy with inferior parts, weak springs, and no fine tuning to the design makes for what appears great but misses the target... literally and figuratively. Don't get this for your kid unless they know it probably won't work right. If they don't care and think it's just cool, then by all means. Maybe has a white elephant gift for an outdoor sportsman, hunter, or target shooter for a holiday or birthday? Outside that, stay away.
