Excellent piece of timber engineering
Very easy to assemble, but one or two areas of the pictorial instructions can be confusing as they are very small. Complete non DIYers who try their hand could come unstuck, but if you are experienced then logic can fill in the gaps you may not understand. The most important instruction is do NOT fully tighten the bolts fully until the Trug is assembled as there is a fair bit of adjustment needed to avoid getting screws too near the edges of the timber you need to screw into. You could otherwise end up splitting that timber. As this is a timber product and like all long pieces of timber can be prone to warping if stored in an adverse environment, I would suggest the box is laid flat in a dry environment until you are ready to assemble it. Overall an accurate and well machined piece of kit.

We are delighted
What a brilliant thing to place just outside your back door. Now we just reach outside for lettuce and beans (dwarf) and our courgette is in full flower, with tomatoes to come. It took an hour or so to put together, with a few pauses to make sure that you were in line with the plan, but the result is a very sturdy and attractive item. it's really handy as no stooping is involved for planting and cropping as everything is at hand height. I might well get another but haven't got another location to suit. Anyway now that it has been built and tested I can fairly write this review. The only two things to look out for are: make sure you keep checking against the plan as you build it; and you may need sort out some early protection as high winds can affect plants - as they are elevated above ground level.

It's a slim VegTrug not medium!
Product is ok but beware as this is a slim VegTrug and not a medium as specified. It says SLIM all over the box so I don't know how the seller can advertise this as medium, very misleading indeed. I wish I'd noticed this before ordering as I was after the medium, which sells at around the same price at a store near me but they didn't have it in stock. Medium is twice the depth of the slim version.

A great buy if you want fresh salad crops and or ...
Saw a friends small Trug and was so impressed that I bought the medium Trug. The product arrived in flat pack format and the instructions were clear and the assembly took me about 45 minutes, if possible have access to and electric screwdriver, makes assembly much easier.Planted the Trug out and as a comparator also planted some similar products in my allotment, the Trug won hands down, the plants in the Trug grew much faster and were stronger plants than those in my allotment. A great buy if you want fresh salad crops and or herbs in your garden.

Great planter
Bought as a gift and yet to be filled for use, this planter is a great size for a restricted space. Assembly requires careful following of the instructions and a stubby or right-angled crosshead screwdriver for some of the less accessible screws but is straightforward. Two people would make the job easier but is just about doable with one. Comes with a liner.

Great size and a perfect height for ease of planting
It arrived in good time and was well packaged. I put together by myself in an hour an a half, i used a couple of heavy garden chairs to lean items against. It was fairly straight forward build, but there are some useful demos on construction and ideas for planting the Trug on Utube.I'm very pleased and it fits neatly against a wall. It's a lovely height for ease of planting and I'm looking forward to using my herbs and salad in a few weeks.

Compromises space but does the job well!
It fits into much narrower spaces than the full width Veg-Trug which is why we purchased it.Obviously this will impact your growing space. But so far the veg are all growing well. Deeper rooting plants to the back, and shallower rooting to the front. The back drops straight down making it nice and deep, while the front slopes. It was reasonably easy to put together, but at times it definitely requires 2 people.
