V47 Remote, better than locking your key in the box!!
Nice remote, came with 3 core connecting cable so you can run a + for a brake light kit or other running lights. Snag though, the Givi connection plug and socket can not be used on a Metal plate as used on my Triumph Tiger!! so I have to make up my own IP 3 core waterproof plug and socket so you can disconnect the power to the box and take the top box off. Also connected up the break light to the V47 box but used my own 12v Red IP65 LED strips. But again you can not buy the 2 pin plug for the Lid! the Remote kit comes with the 2pin socket for the bottom part of the box and the other 2pin plug comes with the Givi lighting kit at £44. So had to do the internal wiring my self. so you need to be OK with wiring and soldering to use your own LED Red strip, which you can buy of Amazon for under £12 for 5metres. Use 12v RED IP65 LED strip 5mtr role.

Once working other 10times not working.
The media could not be loaded. I totally agree with Alizarin the first 3 stars review and i would sign it for it but unfortunately from me only 1 star. Same issues but my ONCE is working from 1-2meters away and then other 10 times will NOT open, and its not a remote control battery issue. Shame Givi. Im thinking of making a claim because of that. i Have attached it 1 of the shortest movies because mb limit transfer through gmail 4 trials.

Lazy boy gimmick
More of a lazy boy gimmick, fits well but instructions givi’s poor quality idea.Programming remote is easy and seems to hold memory when disconnected for a short period of time. Suggest gaffer tape to tidy up wires and hide.

Does the job
It does it’s job, sometimes have to wiggle the box to get a decent connection, but no big deal

I absolutely love this. Although
I absolutely love this. Although, sometimes, it will not work. I saw someone complaining about that here. I think it has to do with the contacts on the bottom of the top case. A tap on the case usually gets it working again. Not a big issue so far. The key still works, so, it's cool

Handy when it works, but I have some gripes
I'm a little on the fence about this offering from Givi. Once installed, when it works it is great. However it seems to be a tad flaky and now and then I find myself pressing the remote fob over and over to no avail. I will try fitting a new battery to the remote in case that is where the fault lies. I'll update when I've tried this.As far as design and installation it has some good points and a few bad. As an overview it's relatively simple to fit, but it has some very irritating problems. The key things I had issue with are as follows...1) The fitting instructions are a bit dismal, just a small series of diagrams with very little text.2) In order to sync the remote fob with the main unit and test operation of the mechanism, there has to be power supplied to the unit. This means having the wiring and plugs all fitted to the bike, then placing the top box onto the plate to connect it, supplying the necessary power. As I assume most people would do I fitted everything first then went to sync and test. That was when I realised that the sync button is located INSIDE the main unit. The instructions actually tell you to press the sync button and look for a small red LED light to ensure there is power. Both the button and LED are inside the unit. Therefore I had to unscrew the housing of the unit and remove it from its position in the lock, hit the sync button, check the led, sync up the remote, test the mechanism, then fit it back in place. BAD DESIGN. Why not have the button on the outside?3) The main unit has a small slot cut into one side supposedly to allow the wiring to be fed through. The slot is too small and the wiring does not fit into it, it is too thick. This made positioning the main unit very difficult, as the wiring kept jamming itself between the case and the outer edge of the unit. This made the aforementioned fitting-removal for sync-refitting all the more frustrating.4) In addition to the main wire which didn't fit through the slot, there is another thin wire bundled up inside the main unit. This wire is not mentioned in the instructions. After fitting everything together again, testing the unit at any distance other than with the fob right up against the unit itself resulted in failure. After a bit of checking to make sure everything was in place, I realised that the thin wire might be the aerial for the remote. Yes, it was. So another removal was required, and even more messing around with the slot made worse with the addition of another wire.5) While a lot of the fitting is simplified with some forethought in terms of case design like pre-marked drill holes, and some handy sticky tabs are supplied to locate the main wiring inside the case, the aerial wire is completely ignored. So there is no place for it, no mounts, no pads to stick it with etc. So you're stuck trying to find a way to feed it into the case somewhere, and if it isn't in the right place your key fob might not work. Those are the things that bugged me most trying to fit the thing to the bike. Another omission with the minimal instructions is a third wire hooked up to the power point which has to be fitted to the base plate. The two main wires attach to the positive and negative of the battery, but the third wire...well, that isn't covered in the instructions and there's no obvious place to fit it. It may be that it's there to be used with the stop light kit, but as there is nothing to say one way or the other this wire just becomes an enigma, tucked into a side panel and forgotten about. All that aside, as stated originally, when all works as it should it is a handy addition to the case. One other minor issue I encountered probably won't affect most people. The main unit has a pin which has to pass through the case to push on the release tab of the lock. To accommodate it you have to drill a hole (the location is marked). When I first tested my lock the pin got stuck against the case and the hole had to be slightly increased in size to allow smooth operation. I've mentioned this in case anyone else accidentally has the same issue with it but it isn't very likely. After the lock is fitted it takes up a small amount of space, and won't interfere with the use of the case on the whole. In the box you'll get the various bits that make up the lock (main unit, power cables, power plugs etc), a single remote key fob, a small cap for protecting the pins in the base plug when the box is not on the bike, and the instruction leaflet. The fob looks the part but after one long weekend over in NI for the Northwest 200 the fob is already showing signs of wear, with small bits of the chrome coating peeled off. By comparison the keyfob for my cheap alarm I fitted 2 years ago still looks better after many hours of exposure and harsh weather, so I'd say the fob is probably best kept in a pocket and not with your ignition key.In summary, it's good enough once fitted and when it works it's great being able to open the top box with the press of a button, but it's a mix of good and bad where fitting is involved, and seems to be a little temperamental (if this changes for the better when I replace the fob battery I'll update the review to reflect that). Please note none of this reflects on the supplier. The price is good, the service was excellent and I received mine straight away.
