The light is similar to a typical halogen bulb so the color is nice and warm. As is typical with LED light, the beam is more of a spot light character and focused. This combined with the fact that the bulb is very bright, making it less idea for reading. it feels brighter than a 50W halogen bulb may be because the beam is so focused. I bought this to illuminate the coffee table on which we play card games as a family, but it is slightly too bright for that and casts a shadow. A dimmer switch on this (or making the light more diffuse) will be greatly helpful, which is why only four stars were given. You could point the light toward the ceiling to give the room a more diffuse and even illumination, however, which I think will work better.

I read many reviews, and I am so delighted and grateful to all who posted reviews for this lamp. They were right! It is exactly what I wanted! I have it sandwiched behind my sofa, against the wall, and it is so easy to use when there is not quite enough light to read from the other lighting in the room. And it is almost invisible, as was mentioned, which is nice as well. Love it!

I use this because I just want what I am reading illuminated and not the whole room. It does a great job of that. I like watching TV in a darker room and with this lamp I get the best of both worlds. the switch is on the pole and you cannot adjust brightness. but, for me, it has worked out fine.

We were looking for a floor lamp for our 2018 5th wheel, only lights in an RV are overhead and hard to read at night and watch tv without a glare. We bought and returned a couple before we found this one. What a great lamp, it can be adjusted to where you want the light to be and is compact enough to fit next to an RV sofa without it even being noticed. Everyone who has seen it wants to know all about it because it looks to sleek and fits perfectly. We are considering getting another for our land home.

Love it. Great for extra light on a table or bent down to the floor if working on the floor. Weighted base is perfect, nice switch where you can easily reach it, bright light for task lighting. I use it for sewing. It's an extra light to put right on the needle area of the sewing machine or I can put it way down for cutting out fabric on the floor. Perfect light for 59 year old needing extra light right on the area needed. Love goose neck for that reason.

I am an early riser, and love to knit. Having a lot of light around me at 4 a.m. isn't the best way to start my day. These lights [I bought 2] sit easily behind a sofa and give me awesome light right where I need it. The neck bends easily so I can keep the light out of my peripheral vision, but still see my work. Totally worth the price!!

It looks neat in the photos and the idea of a pretty silver LED lamp for the living room made me buy it. It's not very bright, more along the lines of a reading lamp than anything to help light up a room. After a few days off use it won't turn on and I forget to get it back in the mail fast enough to return it. It has a proprietary power plug so you can't easily replace it and the LED light seems to be the same. I ended up buying a normal tall lamp and normal LED light bulbs and that worked much better for half the price.

I bought this lamp about 2 years ago. It's still going strong. It gives off a warm light which is what I wanted. Only thing I will say is that sometimes I feel like I have to tighten the bottom from time to time. But other than that, it's holding up pretty well.
