Why does it say orbital sander but show a picture of a square sander.

The square one is orbital, works the same as the other. I have both and they work really well for what I do.

Are they soft pads for this tool?

I don’t know ,but it’s the best palm sander I ever used

How does this sander work in corners?

The sander works great in corners. However you need to take the guard off so you can get all the way up To the trim. I refinish hardwood flooring for a living and I love the sander
