What a disappointment this is! The finish isn't great, the lugs were all loose and rusted inside when I got it and this was the replacement after returning the first one. The sound is very thin and plastic sounding as the other review states. Also, they were right, you can't play this thing in the seated position without a strap as there is no way to grip it at all. To add insult to injury, less than six months after purchasing it, the head has split on the edge due to the glue coming apart between the head and rim! It wasn't tuned high and it's down to the awful patterned layer of the head coming away! Meinl customer service has been rubbish so as soon as I decide to fork out for a new head I shall be getting rid of it! Save your money and the disappointment!

I was looking forward to receiving this 14' djembe, however, from the second I tried to play this, I found that it is impossible to tilt and hold between your legs while seated. The body is so slippy that you'd need a wetsuit on to control it or velcro yourself to it! Very plastic looking and quite tinny sounding. It's packaged back up and awaiting the courier. Meanwhile I bought a (cheaper) handmade djembe from here on Amazon, which I loved instantly.
