When this product arrived, it was very well packaged and in excellent condition. When I first took it out of the packing I was actually a little disappointed - I hadn't done my research well enough and expected it to have an uneven surface, as if it was an oil painting. But the surface is completely smooth. But I was so happy with the look of the piece that I put it up anyway. We have received SO many compliments about this piece - and everyone assumes it is an oil painting as the 3d effect is so good. And at the end of the day, being a smooth surface means less dusting! Win win :o).
