PURElite CFPL17 Desk Quad Spectrum LED Lamp - White

This lamp was on my "should I?" or "shouldn't I?" list for a good few weeks. It's difficult to fully appreciate the quality and physical appeal of a product just from the photo. I liked the design and also was intrigued about the versatility of the LED lighting system (i.e. the adjustable colour temperatures and brightness control etc.).I decided to 'chance it' and ordered the PureLite Quad Spectrum Desk Lamp last week. Well, it's arrived, currently plugged in and sat on my desk behind my computer monitor and it not only looks fabulous but it performs even better than I might have hoped it would.The slender and 'pure' design, along with the materials used make this lamp a thing of beauty. It's simple lines and gorgeously graceful 'bendy neck' look so slick and modern. I would think it would look good in any modern surrounding. The grey section that forms the area where you can bend the neck is so well manufactured. I have had many desk lamps with either goose-neck or plastic covered goose-necks — but the PureLite is by far the best I have seen. The neck stays smooth looking, with none of the normal 'goose-neck' kinks. It is almost seamless where the grey rubbery neck joins the white head and base of the lamp. This kind of attention to detail is what I really appreciate. In days gone by you would sometimes see a small "good design" mark on some products which merited it. Well, if I was awarding a "Good Design Award" I would nominate PureLite's Quad Spectrum Lamp for sure!!But how does it function, after all that's why we buy a lamp... not just for its good looks. Well on that count the lamp is again top notch. The LEDs give out a good amount of light, which can be adjusted in a stepped way from dim-ish to bright. Then you can choose between four LED colour temperature settings. I am not a huge fan of the very cold white light often emitted by modern LEDs, they are great for certain tasks but generally I try to emulate the 'tungsten light' effect. I find it more restful and pleasing. This lamp can cater for whatever your needs may be. It would be good to have just two settings, i.e. cool white and warm white, but this lamp gives you FOUR different types of 'white'. Absolutely excellent. A small point but one worth mentioning is that the setting you leave it on when using the lamp's touch standby button to turn the light off will be remembered when you turn the lamp back on again. If you use the mains plug to kill the power then it seems to revert to the factory settings (i.e. lamp will initially come on at 60% brightness).The controls on the lamp's base are not raised, they are touch-sensitive marked areas. Nice and ergonomically arranged.I am totally chuffed with my new PureLite lamp. I am a fussy so-and-so and I think that I have quite high standards when it comes to choosing the gadgets and gizmos that I surround myself with. This lamp is a most welcomed addition to my little world!!Well done PureLight. Love your lamp.

This was a gift so I cannot review the functioning of the lamp but I will certainly buy one the same for myself when mine dies as this looked very good and better that the one I use.

Really love this product. Different temperatures of white light to cater for different uses, I.e. reading vs craft work and also ability to dimming the brightness.

This was for my father and has turned out to be ideal. Brilliant that the level and type of light can be altered at the touch of a button. Would recommend.

Did a lot of research on this and think it's the best one around. Light but stable, streamlined, effective.

Made using photoshop easier and colours more consistent, reduced eye strain, nice functional product, cant ask for more.
