It fits
It was too long before I burn it. Then it works fine. I tested it in afternoon and it is not that bright. I think if it is smaller (Coleman's mantle is smaller) then the flames will be closer to the mantle and it will be brighter. For the same price, I got 15 of these instead 4 Coleman.

The mantles worked
Because the mantles were pancaked down,I did have to stretch it a bit before lighting to make it into a more round in shape.Otherwise they worked well.

Good for testing, not durable enough for long term use.
I picked these up to use for testing lanterns I’m rebuilding or repairing before committing a couple of good $2 mantles. I purchased the small u-shaped mantles. These are narrower and longer than a #21 or 2C-HG, and the shape isn’t very consistent, but at least all 4 that I tried so far burned in properly and haven’t developed any holes after a couple days of use. I haven’t been too rough with them but they don’t seem to be super fragile. I don’t think they are as bright as a Coleman or Peerless mantle, but for the price I wasn’t expecting them to be. I don’t know how well they’re going to hold up long term but for my use that’s probably not going to matter.Update- changing my review from 4 stars to 3. These really don’t seem viable for anything more than short term use unless you want to replace them frequently. I had one fall right off the burner when I was moving the lantern around today. These have a critical flaw, in that they don’t have a non-burning strand in the string that remains after the mantle burn in. That means there’s nothing left to hold the mantle to the burner except the weak structure of the mantle itself. Good mantles have a fiberglass or metal strand in the string to keep them in place. These are fine if you want cheap mantles to sacrifice for testing, but if you want something that burns bright and holds up well buy something better like Peerless. You get what you pay for.

Waiting to see.
I ordered these to use for spare mantles for my Lanturn. I have not used one yet, but they do look like they will do the job just fine.

These work great for my little Primus lantern!
I was trying to use the coleman mantles for my Primus lantern since I could buy them last minute at walmart. Unfortunately they just didn't burn very bright so I was very pleased that when using the right mantle like these, my lantern burns as bright as it ever did.
