Gavin and Stacey have moved to Wales. Stacey couldn't be happier now she’s back with her mum Gwen, her uncle Bryn and a daily diet of omelettes. Gavin on the other hand is adjusting to life in Barry, and although he won't admit it, he's missing his parents Pam and Mick and of course, his best friend Smithy. Smithy is bereft in Essex without Gav, and is trying to get used to the fact that his son, Neil the baby, is now living in a caravan with mum Nessa and soon-to-be stepfather Dave Coaches. In the third and final series of this award winning comedy, we find out once again that there’s nothing predictable about families and friends…whichever side of the Severn Bridge they live on. Review: A premaure release and a tidy conclusion - A lot of people seem to be complaining that this series has been released on DVD before it had finished its broadcast run on BBC1. Why worry? I wish every series followed suit so you could watch them at your leisure and not worry about programming the video...or, worse still, staying in. I'm sure Smithy would approve, especially as there are now so many foam parties to go to in Basildon. Hats off to this series for blazing some kind of trail - long may it continue! As for the content, there is some great stuff here for all fans of the series. The guests at the wedding in the final episode are inspired (and I bet they didn't need that much persuading, given the popularity of this show) while any sentimental moments are always undercut by the quirky comedy (in addition to the Wests and the Shipmans, we now discover that neighbour Peter's surname is Sutcliffe!), keeping it all as lovable and as addictive as ever. Nothing will disappoint. In fact, Barry Island in summer looks superb -what a contrast to how it looks in the winter rain! I would say more, but some of you are still probably watching it on telly, so I won't spoil it for you! Review: DVD - Quality as expected

Lush
The whole 'Gavin & Stacey' thing is a phenomenon. It probably won't be seen again for many years in any medium. It's a bit like alchemy, with due respect to Mr. Corden & Ms. Jones. Bring together some normally inert (in this instance read 'somewhat obscure and unproven') elements; mix them in the right environment and you produce gold! The writing is spectacular - perfectly pitched and usually so understated that you can believe you were the only one that saw something funny (except for the other 20 million or so!) The acting benefits from the presence of the immense capabilities and experience of the likes of Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman, and all of the cast rise to that level. It was never going to be easy to a) follow on from the success of the first two series and the special, and b) to bring it to a satisfactory conclusion since this really was the last time. It is a DVD essential since it bears watching again, and again etc. Oh, and I do have a crush on Nessa, but then who doesn't?

Wonderful
You could probably make a pretty convincing argument that the very best sitcoms are those that limit themselves to 2 or 3 excellent series and then know when to stop (e.g. Fawlty Towers, The Office). Watching this third and final series of Gavin and Stacey it's hard not to go along with that theory. In fact it's hard not to think that the three series weren't conceived as a beautifully, hilariously wonderful trilogy right from the outset. I don't know if they were, but this series brings everything to a satisfying close in splendid fashion. It's as funny as the first series, as dramatic as the second, and gives us, the viewer, a perfect little 3-series package. (I know there's a Christmas special too, and if memory serves, that's great too - I've got it on order, so it should be with me soon!)

BRILLIANT
Who cares that it has been released on dvd 1st GET A LIFE This series is fab, there is a few ends that didn't get tied up but I hope that will leave the door open for another special in a few years Smithy is amazing in the last episode, Nessa turned a bit nasty with Gwen and I am not sure if this was needed for comedy. Deano was soo funny but my fave is Dawn but maybe I am biased cos I am a huge Nighty Night fan, If you like this you will love Nighty Night. Buy it xx

Gavin and Stacey series 3?
You know how you wish some things will never end. Well I feel like the world of Gavin and Stacey has just started. I want more!!! I took a chance on the first series and was hooked in the first 10 minutes. It's just nice to see honest folks trying to survive in this crazy world where no one is perfect or should they be! I even got my friends to come over to see what I've been talking about. So if you ever get to Lansing, Michigan, USA the first pint on me! Mike Lewis

Thank goodness for DVDs
I missed Gavin & Stacey when it was on TV but bought the first series on DVD because it was cheap. I'm so glad I did! I absolutely loved and, and immediately bought the rest of the DVDs. It just gets better and better, the only bad thing about series 3 is that its the last one! I have watched all 3 series 3 times over now and it is hilarious everytime. The characters and storyline have really grown and I am devastated there will be no more Gavin & Stacey!

très chouette série ; très chouettes acteurs ; heureusement qu'il y a les sous-titres !!!!! J'aime beaucoup ; excellent pour s'entraîner à l'écoute de l'anglais.

One of the funniest series that have come out of Britain! Story is based on a young Britain man who dates a young lady from Wales and all their madcap adventures between themselves, their families and friends. I'm sure I'm not doing it justice with my description but take my word -- A MUST SEE - absolutely a riot! I think they could have continued this series for years but I believe the writers had other commitments. Very sad when it ending - I wanted it to go on and on.

Some great moments in this series on both the laugh and cry end of the spectrum. Overall great entertainment with a cast of characters who are at the same time mundanely normal and wildly accentric. I know it sounds like a paradox but buy it and watch it. If nothing else learn the colloquial meanings of whats occuring, lush, oh and where to she be then. The family Christmas is too real. Perhaps I am just sentimental for the Welsh coast as I lived in Pwll Du while at the Coleg y Brifysgol Abertawe.

I have loved this series since it aired. Had it on my old IPOD, which is acting up... Decided best to get on DVD format. Fantastic James Cordon when he was an unknown in the USA. Classic amazing comedy!
