I bought a pair of occidental bags used from a coworker about 12 years ago when I started in the trades, and they held up all this time, so naturally I figured I’d buy another pair. My old pair for reference is also the fat lip I believe. And is still functional but fairly beat after 12 years+They’ve obviously made some upgrades to the bags since, there’s lots of room in them the pockets are deeper and there is added leather reenforcement around, as well as a clip which I put an extra pocket on. I got the suspenders as well which pair great. They’re a little uncomfortable at first they’re stiff obviously need to be broken in. I get tons of compliments on them from homeowners and other tradesman. I have everything I could want stuffed into them (they are heavy) get the suspenders, and I personally wear overalls so my bags don’t try to drag my pants down. Overall I would say this is a great choice for the all around carpenter who is doing a variety of projects daily or weekly. I wouldn’t say they are necessary for your average framer or roofer, They are probably too bulky. But I think $400 for 14 years is a pretty good deal. Occidental certainly is the leader in quality and style. I give these bags a 5 star recommendation.

At first I was really hesitant to buy $300 work bags but I sucked it up and bought them anyway seeing as many other carpenters use these and let me say it’s with good reason. These bags are insanely comfortable. Even picking them up for a few minutes you can tell that the entire rig is complete and utter QUALITY. These bags are actually a bang for your buck and the best investment I have yet to make for work bags.

Great construction tool belt

I like the thick belt it fits nice and comfortable. The only issue I have is the tape measure pouch. Too snug fat max 25' tape barely fits. I even cut clip off but still snug. Still trying to adjust the belt for my needs as s journeyman Union carpenter.

Don’t know about the durability or sturdiness, still to new of a set of bag and they are not all leathers. I don’t know how well the nylon portions will take the abuse of rasps, chisels, fasteners etc... But Occidental bags are the best I’ve ever used and I’m a carpenter, contractor builder for 33 years. Last set of all leather Occidentals lasted 17 years!Also the big wide belt really helps distribute the weight and makes it much more comfortable to wear all day long.

I have been watching the reviews on this tool belt for weeks now and finally decided to take the plunge and buy one, it arrived today from the usa to Scotland and i only ordered it 2 days ago, so very fast delivery.The tool belt its self if very comfortable, light weight compared to other belts, great back support and loads of room for tools and fixing to be kept tidily inside the belt. You can aee and feel the quality straight away, i cant wait to put it to worl tomorrow.

I’m just a DIYer and bought it at huge discount, otherwise I may reconsider purchasing it due to the high price.The belt is heavy duty with thick leather material and well designed for professional use. I would think it will last for many years under heavy usage.On the downside, it’s quite heavy and bulky for small size person. For DIYer, probably it will be too pricey and overkill for the purpose.Note: my waist is about 33-34, and I’m using last 2-3 hole on M size for your reference

There is something special about using a quality hand made item and this tool belt definitely fits into that category. It's more expensive than the other belts on the market but once its in your hands it is obvious why that is the case.

This is a great belt. Lightweight compared to full leather. The pockets are deep so nothing falls out when I'm moving around or climbing.Only issue is the sizing of belt. I'm a 35 and got the medium and I'm on the second to last hole. A large belt would've been nicer.
