Item arrived wrinkled, eliminating its ability to effectively reflect light, the solitary purpose of this film most anyone purchasing this product would be using it for. I ordered a replacement and am returning this item for exchange. Not worth even a three star review if the second roll arrives like the first. I am quite sure all 50’ of this item is damaged. There is no way I will take the time install this compromised Mylar film in its condition. Let’s see if the replacement roll is any better. Update: VIVOSUN absolutely exceeded all my expectations with the replacement roll. I submitted my request to return the original roll, which had a crease (caused by the shipping process, I’m sure) that would have critically affected its ability, in my opinion, to reflect light properly (the sole reason for my purchasing the film). Even before I had a chance to drop off the item to be returned later that same day, they confirmed my request and had already shipped it early the next morning. VIVOSUN’s quick follow through saved me an extended loss of productivity. I received the item about two days later. I couldn’t be more pleased with how they resolved my issues caused by circumstances almost certainly out of their control. My only concern now is: Does this roll really have 50ft of film (with enough people who reviewed their product commenting that theirs was shorter than what they paid for) but I’m not concerned enough to unroll it in an attempt to find out. My original review was 3 stars…. Not even a 4.99 star review is merited. 5.0! Great follow up, VIVOSUN!

It was delivered quickly and in great shape. The material is the perfect thickness for my grow tent. Previously I tried saving money by using Mylar blankets, those survival blankets, and they were hard as hell to work with. The Mylar blankets were too thin to staple, would tear easily, and it still let a lot of light pass through it. On the other hand, this material has little to no transparency, it staples on drywall and wood, it is tough, and it has good reflective properties. Smooth reflective materials (like Mylar blankets) tends to scatter light (especially if there are wrinkles in the material) in a disordered and inefficient way, but this material seems to be scattering light evenly and it doesn't wrinkle (as long as you do a decent job). If you are building your own grow tent than this is a great material, especially for the price.

I had no problem with the product, received it in good condition. Installation was not complicated. Like many comments here, I received a roll that missing 38 inches out of 600 inches (50 feet), 6.3%. If I use the measurements provided in French 152.4 meters, I just received 14.2 meters, I received 9.3%). Usually, sellers deliver exactly on the measure they publicized or slightly more.

Disclaimer: I have not used a light meter to test it’s effectiveness. My newest hobby is Kratky hydroponics ( not pot, but salad-type leafy greens and cooking herbs). Surprisingly, the grow lights hurt my spouse’s eyes… But my spouse is sensitive to all kinds of things so perhaps that’s not so surprising. So instead of proudly showing off my grow to hours to myself and all my guests, I need to 😕 block the light. As long as I’m doing that, I might as well help the plants! So I bought this thick mylar sheeting. I attached it to a drapery rod via shower curtain hangers and, to make it look pretty on the outside, and also to celebrate My hydroponic hobby, I fronted it with shower curtains with green plant art. The mylar being backed by white (Unlike the black of grow tents) Is a huge part of why I picked this product. It’s in my main guest entertainment area and, unlike a secret pot farm in the basement, looks are therefore important. The shower curtain is wider than this roll so I used one for width and an extra 23 inches (2 strips). I haven’t attach them together but may if it seems called for later. The thickness of this material leads me to believe that it will last pretty well for quite a while. I the thickness, however, was a bit hard to use a hole punch with… My whole punch lost its effectiveness after the first 10 punches Making the final 14 punch is very difficult. (24 because I’m setting up my 2nd grow tower.) So far, I am super happy with my combination of materials, thir effectiveness, and their appearance. I did notice a little bit of fragrance which seems to have dissipated after a few hours of being in a windows-opened room. Four stars is my top rating until I gain more data which leads me to add or decrease a star.

I have a growing area in my garage & was looking for something to kind of insulate as well as be reflective and be easy to handle. This film/sheeting had the properties I was looking for: 1) at least 6 mil thick (.006), 2) diamond pattern reflective surface on one side 3) easy to work with when wrapping over PVC frame. I would have preferred a black backing vs white but that was not an option. The material is thick enough not to tear though not as thick as a pre-made grow tent. It does try to 'kink' a little when lifting or folding if the whole length isn't lifted up at the same time though the 'kinks' do smooth out once it's straightened correctly. The material is very easy to cut. I haven't put any holes in it so can't say how well they would hold against ripping. Once unrolled for a bit, the curl (from being on a roll) straightened out & the material hangs nicely. All in all, this is pretty robust material for a DIY growing tent. Personally, I think a pre-made grow tent is worth it as the material is thicker, it's fully sealed and has zippered openings & vents. The cost isn't that much more. However, I needed something taller than 6.5' which is the height of most tents.
