great value
This a great value for the money. If you like a larger watch, but don't like the extra weight, this may be for you. For its size, it's quite light due to the resin case. It's very easy to read. There is no luminosity though. It is difficult to read in the dark.

Subtle. I thought it would be bigger.
Decent quality. Smooth band nice color contrast. Not sure if I will keep or give as a gift.

Great Looking Watch, but Too Barebones
My wife and I both very much like the look of this Armitron watch (I love backpacking, and as soon as my wife saw this watch she declared it was perfect for me). It looks great, is very comfortable, is what I think an appropriate size for a men's watch (not overly large, not too small), and seems to be rugged enough to stand up to regular outdoor wear. Beyond that its water proof to 100 M (so its suitable for recreational swimming and watersports, and will be just fine in the rain), and has luminescent hands (and, ostensibly, a luminescent dial).Unfortunately, I had to dock a star:1) Extremely barebones. I actually like barebones watches, but for the price I would have expected a date indicator (its a small addition I think would have been very suitable for this watch).2) Weak luminescence: I compared this to two other: an Invicta and a Luminox. It was more luminous than the Invicta, but noticeably worse than the Luminox. The combination backplate luminesce 'works' in that its extremely dim and won't ruin your night vision. The hands, on the other hand, I found to be far too weak (especially when compared to the backplate). The luminox had a much stronger luminescence and its approach (luminescent hour markets + luminescent hands) worked much better.Overall, despite my four star rating, I actually like this watch quite a bit. That said, I don't think I would purchase this watch due to its price:features ratio. If you spend a little more you can get an excellent noticeably better watch, and if you spend less you can still get a cheap casio that will work great for 90% of the applications you would use this watch for.

Rugged Looking, Military Style Watch With Very Dim Luminosity
I ordered this Armitron Adventure because I was expecting it to have a luminous watch face that you could see easily in the dark. The watch face has no powered lighting. But, while the hands are easy to see in the dark, the orange watch face is so dim you have to strain your eyes to make out the numbers because the hour numbers (12, 3, 6 and 9) are black and not luminous. I find the watch not useful for viewing the time in the dark. I even tried using a very bright LED flashlight to "boost" the luminosity and was not satisfied. Deduct 2 stars because night visibility was the main feature I was looking for. For daytime use, or where external light is available the watch is fine. The strap is easy to use and is comfortable. There is no day of month feature, but I knew that going in. The watch is packaged in an attractive presentation box. The accompanying instructions are for a watch with a calendar date feature; this speaks to careless product packaging. It was easy to set the time. The watch keeps accurate time. It is a bare bones, simple design and useful as a field watch. It can be worn in rugged terrain or places it might take a beating because the low price point makes it a minor risk for damage or loss. The style and colors are military influenced and I think the orange dial, black case, green silicon strap have a nice look for people who like a bare bones rugged watch. Update after eight weeks of use; I found this watch remained working after wearing it at the swimming pool and keeping it on while in the water.

A great watch to wear in the water, but I wish it had a light feature.
This is a good watch to wear in the water and in a very heavy rainstorm as I experienced last night. I'm not crazy about the silicon band and as a matter of fact, I really don't like it. However, I have seen that water falls off of it as if it had never been there. So there is no need to set aside this watch for the band to dry. Therefore, I do have a use for it when at the pool or beach (and rain as I already said). The dial is easy to read and is an eye catcher. However, I expected that it would have a light mechanism for when I'm in the dark. It has no such feature, but it's not that it was advertised with having it. I just expected that it was something that would be a standard feature for this type of watch as is true with a couple of others I own.

Nice bright easy to read dial with black numbers and markers, the glowing dial has a very short glow life.
This watch has a very easy to read orange dial with black numbers, the band is hunter green. Both the hands and the entire dial glow in the dark making it easy to see in the dark, I am disappointed that the dial glow life is very short, less than 30 minutes after I held a very bright LED flashlight up to the dial it was black. I have a different brand with a glowing dial that glow for hours as this one should. The green rubber band is soft and comfortable and easy to adjust.

Feels Good On and Keeps Excellent Time
This very masculine watch keeps excellent time. It has a large face, being a inch and a quarter in diameter. The black polycarbonate case and crystal lens makes it feel a bit heavy, but it is only eight ounces in weight. I like that it is water resistant down to 330 ft. In case you forget it, it has small lettering just above the number six stating: 100 m. The silicone strap is very soft and pliable. It feels good on.
