American Standard 7389952950A Left Hand Plastic Trip Lever For Champion 4 Toilet Tanks, Satin Nickel

I own 4 houses, 3 vacation rental and the one I live in. I’ve found that the A.S. Champion 4 toilets virtually never gets blocked, so I use only that toilet. Through the years I’ve change all my toilets out, so now I own 8-10 of these. The problem is the flush lever. This lever ( 738995-0020A ) is the stock lever that comes on the toilet. But it’s junk. A better choice for replacement is the American Standard 738772-0020A. It’s metal and so far I haven’t had one of these break.

I did gamble on buying this unit since I could not find the exact part for my model number. At times I can be anal trying to be exact. Anyway the part looked like the one i needed. It took two minutes to install..though I had to go to my tool box a couple of times LOL bottom line...the wife and Ii no longer have toilet issue..and now I now that generic units at the big box stores don't necessarily wok and although OEM is terribly more expensive the hassle just isn't worth getting the cheap stuff

They used to make these parts out of actual metal. And they lasted.Not anymore. Everything's plastic now. And this company is called "American Standard".If this is the "standard", we have serious issues.I had to order two of these, because the first one showed up broken, and broken worse than the part it was replacing. Thankfully the second one showed up intact. I can flush my potty again. Yay. They need to go back to making things like this sturdy, instead of cheap.

This was an exact replacement for the original, and fits better than a ‘universal’ lever I bought at the hardware store to keep the toilet working. A bit pricey for what it is, but I guess American Standard has a captive audience. Hint: to check whether this is the correct replacement, the relevant model number is stamped on the inside of the tank and the America Standard website cross references to the part number.

Horrible! SHARP EDGES on the handle literally cut into your fingers when you press down on them to flush. Long pointy edge of handle hangs past the bowl and is also sharp to the touch. The design has you holding the handle down at an extreme angle. WTF??? Such cheap plastic and horrible design---how does this product even exist? (Yes, this is the recommended model for my toilet)On the positive side: The inside arm seems to be the right length and angle for the chain. Though this low flow Champion toilet seems to require that you hold the handle down on each flush.It's twice as much $$ to buy official Standard brand handle from their website. Do it.

Did the research and made sure this handle matched my toilet and read reviews! Was concerned about the reviews saying it was plastic, however the metal one that is advertised I thought might be to long. This one is pretty much the same one that came with my American Standard Toilet so it fit perfect and it is working fine! Will let you know how long, the last plastic one that came with the toilet lasted almost 7 years!

This handle works perfectly, and I'm happy with it. However, it's made from extremely cheap materials. It costs a lot more if you go straight to the manufacturer (A LOT MORE), so I got it for what I believe to be a reasonable price from Amazon, and I hope it lasts longer than the last one, which came with the toilet and is identical to this one.

After buying the wrong handle at Home Depot I ordered the correct one. This handle is the replacement for the original and works well. Easy to install, I had no issues.
