GiviLock Set for Top Case

I got this to replace a lock on my old top box, easy to fit and worked amazingly.

This looks better then the original lock which comes with the box. However, my first impression was that its purpose was to secure the box to the mounting plate, don't know why. :) The lock is more complex as is the key cut. Is it really 80% more secure? The inside part, a latch is made of some sort of plastic, quite hard but how strong is it? If someone smash the button on the box, will it hold or will it break off allowing for box to be open? The original lock is no different in this respect, so ...Because I bought it, I replaced the original lock with this one, a bit fiddly task and not so easy one but doable. It works well but honestly, I do not think it makes any real difference.

Fitted easily and well, just be mindful that you don't lose your original ball bearing and spring when you take you're old one out.

Not the same lock

After I lost a key, it was cheaper and easier to replace the whole lock than find a replacement key. The lock installed easily, however there were no instructions specific to my Trekker Outback top case. Using the instructions for other top cases, I quickly figured out neither of the included lock plates would work with my top case, so I reused the one that was already in the lock.

Facile à monter en 5 minutes sur mon top Case Givi Maxia 4 V56 Monokey 56L pour remplacer la serrure qui a été forcée. Il peut convenir à d'autres formats de top case Givi puisque d'autres pièces adaptables sont fournies. Livré avec mode d'emploi.

Credo che mani esperte aprano la serratura originale in pochi minuti o secondi. Questa è fatta meglio e sembra più difficile da forzare (non impossibile ovviamente). Dato che spesso nel bauletto si lascia il casco un minimo di sicurezza in più non guasta. Per quello che costano i bauletti GIVI potevano anche metterla di serie.Montaggio non complicato se si ha dimestichezza con gli attrezzi altrimenti lasciate perdere prima di spaccare qualcosa.
