Love this series!
This book starts with a bang! When Lyla Eden is attacked while out hiking, she is so shaken that she finds it hard getting back to everyday life. Then Vance Sutter arrives in town to try and find the man that attacked Lyla and she instantly trusts this insanely handsome man. But not everything is as it seems. Vance is closer to the case than anyone knows and there are a lot of secrets he's keeping close to his chest. I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this book. It reminded me of Indigo Ridge and added a new aspect to the series that kept it fresh. The "will they, won't they" of the romance worked well with the mystery too. The sparks flew immediately but they were both hesitant to go any further. The ending unfolded amazingly but left enough questions for the next book.

Small town meets mystery/suspense
This is one of those series that I am going to be so sad is over. There is such comfort and joy in reading Devney’s books and I would never question picking up one of her stories. I’ve been really eager for Lyla’s story as we’ve gotten to know her. Poor girl did not get off to a good start in this book but she took it in her stride, was so brave and showed such resilience. She was so likeable. Enter Vance Sutter. He was just the perfect balance of slightly broody, protective, caring and had a lovely filthy mouth. I loved their immediate attraction and seeing it grow to something more, whilst they knew it would come to end, was quite angsty. I love the mystery/suspense in this one, because I’d kind of missed those vibes since Indigo Ridge. *𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬* 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: contemporary romance 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: small town, mystery suspense, insta attraction, strangers to lovers, dual pov 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞: 🌶️🌶️.5

Really enjoying this series.
This author can tell a good tale, her series has been well written and the plots are well thought out. Lyla owns the coffee shop in Quincy and she has lost herself in work hardly having any time off to do other things. She is pushed into having a break and goes for a hike. Along the river bank a hunter startles her and then throttles her leaving her semi unconscious. This attack gets Vance going to Quincy to look for the guy he has been trying to catch for four years. Meeting Lyla was a shock to him because there was an instant attraction and he hated to see the bruises around her neck. He tells her about catching the guy and the story builds with him tracking each day and ending up with Lyla each night. Really good read.

Phenomenal addition to this series
Wow , wow, wow. Another phenomenal book in The Edens series. I loved every second of this book. I was swooning throughout and I was completely hooked. With the ending to this book I am now desperately waiting for the last Eden siblings book. OMG I need to now more but I'm so not ready to say goodbye to this incredible family and this little town in Quincy. Once again a phenomenal five star read that I couldn't put down and I would definitely recommend.

Good Storyline
This was a good story that held my interest throughout. I would say that it is more Romantic Mystery then it is suspense as was my first thought going into it. this was my first foray into this Author's work and would definitely read other books by her.
