I LOVE this wool blanket!
OK, sure - I’d love to have an original 6-point trade blanket, but until then I’ll be very happy with this one.I slept under this fantastic wool blanket and cotton flannel sheets (the latter which I’m returning as they failed to live up to their description and photo depictions) last night, and enjoyed truly blissful rest.I’m a long-distance hiker, and regularly sleep within high-performance, ultralight down sleeping bags and quilts. However, for nights off the trail, I’m trying to get away from down and synthetics, and increase the weight of my bedding, which I find enormously comfortable. While there’s no way that a single wool blanket can provide the equivalent warmth of down, I’m betting that several of them will! 😃My new navy blue blanket is very attractive, well made, and I like that it combines recycled and new wool fibers, both ecologically, as well as structurally. The generous size was an important consideration for me, and the described weight seems accurate.I purchased this blanket to serve me aboard my sailboat, where I anticipate it will occasionally suffer a splash of seawater and a few drops of rain. I know that its qualities will remain despite being wet on those rare occasions, it will not foster microbial growth, and it will air dry under sunlight better than any synthetic.I was hoping that this blanket would smell of lanolin - at least hint of it - but it seems to have been treated with some sort of fragrance, which while not terribly objectionable to me, will certainly benefit from airing over time, I expect.I’ll very likely buy more of these to pile up on top of myself during the approaching winter, and I may well get that original trade blanket to put on top, though honestly, I won’t be the least ashamed of this one in the meantime.

Absolutely amazing
These are the thickness, heaviest wool blankets I've ever owned. I purchased both the queen and king size. Each blanket weighs approximately 10lbs! They weren't messing around when they made them!!These are not the same as fluff filled comforters that make you sweat. Wool traps heat and wicks moisture . They keep you incredibly warm, without getting you drenched in sweat. I'm a cold room sleeper. I keep my bedroom window open several inches during the winter. No exaggerating, I can sometimes feel snowflakes coming through the screen, and landing on my face from the window above my bed. Most mornings the thermometer reads about 40°f in my bedroom. I have two of these on my bed, plus a top sheet and the chill never touches my skin. They are absolutely amazing! If the retailer would get more in stock, I'd buy 4 more king size blankets!

All wool as advertised.
The blanket is well constructed, stood up well to a careful first machine wash and outdoor air-dry. The color is pleasing, not a true navy, more cobalt. It has a persistent scent, probably because it is treated to be water-resistant for outdoor use. The scent not as noticeable after the wash (after using Woolite detergent). It is not prickly, which is very good. Overall, a good buy.
