OMG! Great Great Great. A little spendy but you get what you pay for. 07 Street Glide
Are you kidding me! I love this ECM. I had it connected to my laptop and on it's own connected to the internet (though my laptop) and updated it's own firmware. I kid you not. I have to say that it was a long process erasing old diagnostic/error codes, downloading new base maps, selecting the best base maps, etc. Prior to all this I emailed tech support and got their opinion on which base map to load. They sent me two maps ideas. I put the second map in first and the bike simply failed to even start. Then I installed the first base map they suggested. After following their very well written instructions I hit the start button and held my breath. My 07 Street Glide started right up and idled. I let it stabilize a little and took it out for a little test.Test:After I was done screaming like a little girl and smiling until my jaws hurt I have some performance reviews...1. Deceleration pop-gone2. OMG acceleration! The bike is a changed animal. I'd say that it's at least a third to half stronger. My hair caught fire!3. Great start-up and idle. I need to adjust this but it's running at 1K now4. Did I mention screaming increase in performance?5. Plug and play, literally. Took old ecm off and put the TM right in it's place with same hardware6. Self-aware and on the fly monitoring and self adjusting8. Excellent Tech support. Was surprised by this.9. Perfect instructions10. Best money ever spent on any bike upgradeThe one thing I did have a horrific time with was with the rear O2 sensor. As it turns out the TM sensor is like .20 longer than the original Harley sensor. I literally had to take off my entire left exhaust, screw in the new sensor and reinstall the exhaust. Even then the tip of the new sensor/wiring is so close to my tranny vent I don't even know how it fits. Otherwise I would have had to plug up the old sensor position, re-drill a new hole in a new position, weld in a new bung, etc etc.. That is the only issue I had.

ThunderMax 309-460 ECM. Amazing!!!
I've just installed the new TMax 309-460 with Wave Tune and USB connectivity. What a great device. I bought it because of heat problems with my new Stage II SE 103 build with SE 255 cams. The rear cylinder would get hot really fast and go into parade mode every time I'd stop. Very annoying! The dealer had flashed the stock ECM with the HD Stage II kit settings. It ran ok, but because of BS EPA legislation, those canned HD Maps all run at 14.7 AFR. Guaranteed to melt down a big bore motor! So, since the TMax installation I've got nothing but praise for ThunderHeart. Their ECM works like magic. The new Wave Tune takes care of IAC-Auto automatically and AutoTune runs by default right on the TMax unit updating the MAP values as you ride. All you do now is upload the corrected MAP to your computer occasionally to save for future remapping if necessary. Everything can still be tweaked manually (timing, AFR etc.) if need be, or you're a custom detail freak... but since my bike runs great, why F with it.I couldn't be happier. I came from a Stage I with a V&H FuelPak that ran hot, popped like crazy on decel and idled like crap to a Stage II Big Bore, with a high flow oil pump and mild cams that runs cool, has no decel popping at all, pulls like a diesel truck and idles perfect at TMax's recommended 896RPM. I highly recommend this ECM. So far it's been flawless!

Tremendous Performance Improvement!
I bought a 49-state, lightly-used 2007 FLHR Harley Road King in the spring 2014. It had low mileage and was beefed up with a Stage 1 Air Cleaner and a ThunderHeader exhaust system - highly regarded for its performance. But this bike was a dog. The 2007 model year was a 'first year' for several features, and my homework revealed that these bikes were factory-tuned very LEAN, and they ran notoriously HOT. Fuel efficiency was good (I got mid-40s/mpg all day long) but throttle response was slow and sluggish - and it STALLED all the time when sitting at traffic lights.I replaced the factory ECM with the ThunderMax Auto-tuner 9 or 10 months ago. Because of the high price and good reviews, my expectations were high. In a word, I am completely satisfied with this solution. I have allowed the unit to 'learn' my riding style and conditions on its own - to "tweak itself", if you will. It has settled in and the bike starts easily with a low idle, runs **STRONG**, responsive and much COOLER. It has felt like a completely different bike ever since then - and it does NOT stall at lights anymore. The motor is no longer starved for fuel, so my mileage now runs in the range of low to high 30s/mpg. Performance is great!

Exceeded expectations
I had made so many modifications to my bike that the tuner I had been using could not handle it satisfactorily. I had popping on deceleration that couldn't be fully eliminated and there were also spots in the power curve that weren't right. I began looking for a new solution. There are other tuners on the market purporting to automatically set themselves but in most cases I was skeptical. Everything I read about the Thunder Max was positive, as was a friend's experience.Although a complex device, the TM installs easily and the available documentation is excellent including several videos. Once it is installed, configuring is straight forward for anyone capable of following clear directions. The rest is up to the device itself. On my first ride after installation I saw an immediate improvement. No flat spots, no decel popping, etc. All without a trip to the dyno. I know it will take additional rides before the settings made by the auto-tuning process will have matured but I am already satisfied and happy with my purchase. You probably will not need it, but customer service is awesome. I had questions before the purchase and have had a couple since. In all cases I received timely responses and I felt I was treated great.Definitely a good purchase.
