Its A Textbook..
I'm not really sure what I can say in this review. I men the title says it all. It's a textbook that I had to get for one of my classes. I will say that It is more expensive than I thought it would be but Amazon was still a far better price than my college book store. I guess the most important thing I can say about this book is that if you need it for a class, email your professor and ask if the sixth addition is okay to use. According to my professor, the sixth edition is IDENTICAL to the seventh with the exception of the page numbers. SO double check because if you CAN use the sixth edition, save some money and do it, unlike me.

A decent textbook
A decent textbook that won't break the bank. The spine is solid and the pages have a decent font size that is easy to read. Chapters appear longer than they are due to the maps and the size of the text. Take heart: A college professor could force you to read a more difficult and/or more expensive book.

Serviceable
This text was considered the most user-friendly in one appraisal, yet its parentheses on pronunciation intrude on the flow of many pages. In some respects the Strayer-Nelson and the von Sivers/Desnoyers/Stow textbooks are more substantive and better written. Duiker aims at the lowest common denominator, which may be defensible in some colleges, but it does not challenge students to read at a higher level. The layout also leaves something to be desired.

It said lightly used
turns out it was written in and the cover was ripped pretty good.

Average
I rented this book for the purpose of a World History II college class. The book is as any other textbook. It is helpful with assignments, yet the readings or semi-boring. Chapters are long which makes for a long amount of time required for reading.

It's a textbook
It is a great read; i haven't been able to put it down....yeah right, it's a textbook. It was required by my professor, however, it is very well laid out & it breaks everything down into manageable sections that are easy to understand.
