Nice by slightly weird tool
A really good hammer - with weird looks and a dead useful quirky thing. Use it for around a hundred meters of close-board fencing so far and all is good. (many many hundreds of nails ! )The weight is ok - first full day of use was a bit tiring but 7 hours of 4 inch nails does that. The textured face is cool and has helped rescue a good few bendy nails already - good control. The uneven claw is weird but kinda useful - nice pointy end - good for digging our tacks.I'd never tried a hammer with a nail holder before and the little magnetic sucker is pretty cool and really useful, once you get the hang of it, which is a little tricky to be honest - good once learned though. The handle is solid, well contoured and super grippy.I never really quite see how much fluff people expect from a hammer and I don't know what they mean by "well balanced" - but it puts the nails in the wood - and its my friend now !

Continental carpenters or roofers hammer
A curiosity and talking point on site. Well made but a tad heavy. Should last a good long time. Very reasonably priced

It's a hammer. Hit things with it.
Sold purely on the product image. Hammer for screws? When tested, it is true, you can smash a self tapper through chipboard, but it isn't recommended.Cheap, well weighted and balanced. Smooth swing. Handle is comfortable in extended use, no blisters. A copy of a much more expensive Estwing. The machining is a little rough on the claw cutout section, but it is not a functional part so does not really matter. The spike is useful and sharp, I have used it to claw up 8x4 boards in demolition by smashing it through the deck and lifting, punctures MDF and chipboard easily, ply is a bit tougher but still do-able for <10mm thickness. Can be used in place of a podger or Bull pin to align holes when building layher scaffolding, or removing pins when hammered below the surface. Full swing power on steel pins with the claw has mushroomed the end slightly, but still functional... and when in a belt, it means it no longer sticks painfully into your leg when climbing or moving about.Downsides? The allen bolts securing the handle are a bit too long, 1 came very loose after a full day of swinging. Tightened with a dab of superglue, no further issues. The face has a meat tenderiser texture. It will mark layher pins and potentially cause sharp edges and burrs. I ground it flat with a 120grit disc on an angle grinder, and took it down a further 2mm. It is much better balanced now. There will be some very mild surface corrosion once the lacquer wear away, but this can be cleaned off with steel wool and vinegar. Can't really go wrong. I'm on my second. Cheap enough that i won't cry if it goes missing, and if I need another, it's on Prime

Initial looks and feel are great
Unfortunately a forging flaw led to the face of the hammer splitting on first strike of a nail, otherwise it's really weighted well and feels good in the hand
