I heard about Chestnut Honey on an older Emeril Live show. I have about 12 various types of honey in my pantry. I just received it today, and opened it right away. Taste is wonderful, with a hint of nuttiness. Molto Bene. Bel colore. Deliziosa.I will be back for more.

Had read a study published online at PubMed that raw chestnut honey proved beneficial for gout. We also think this honey tastes great!! We have ordered three jars so far and will continue to re-order this high-quality specialty honey.

Chestnut honey has a surprising, some say, tiny hint of bitterness at the finish. If you like your honey on biscuits or toast, this isn't for you. Added to teas, Earl Grey or Constant Comment types, coffee's, drizzled on Parmesan ,or a ripe pear, allows the honey's true intensity to bloom, and the bitter bite is gone. This is a staple found in most Europeans cupboards. Sadly, without chestnut trees in America, this treat must be imported, hence the higher price.

This honey has a sweet/bitter taste and overly expensive. Not on the top of my list of honeys.
