Not cheap by any means. It is too hot and there is no way of controlling the temperature to lower it. Otherwise Ok.

Failed Heating Element
Apart from initial testing to see that it heated up I did not use this item until 12th January 2021. It performed fine, though the stem where the heating element resides, not the tip, did get red hot at times. After a couple of hours use I stopped using it. I returned the next day to find it dead, no heat. These soldering irons are virtually bomb proof so I was surprised. With only 56 ohms across the iron it seems the electricity is flowing, but the resistance is lower than expected. An expensive mistake to leave it so long before needing to use it. A request to Weller has been ignored, it seems they have no interest in customers.
