I hve two of these on my boat for my cannon downriggers. They work good. Nice how the mounting holes are staggered for different rail mounting options. Definitely recommend

Great mount for my Canon downrigger. Fiberglass boat is only approx 1/4" thick and I was just not comfortable taking a shortcut mounting it to our $34,000 boat. Drivers side of the boat this mounted just fine on the rail where it T's down into the boat - but on the other side of the boat it only had a rail with 2 - 45 degree mounts down into the fiberglass without a place to mount it. So I drilled a few holes in the boat and put a wash cloth behind it so help mitigate some of the movement damage on the fiberglass and secured it straight into the gunwale.

this is perfect for a square rail pontoon boat. very well built, and stainless steel hardware. if i could have anything different it would be one made of stainless, but that would probably cost double.

This was the best product I could find for my rail mounting. It saved me having to drill holes in my new boat gunnel. It is, however, designed just for cannon downriggers. It does not have a universal hole pattern and I had to drill holes in order to mount the trax style swivel bases I use to mount my Walker downriggers. If cannon would use a universal hole pattern, it would be worth 5 stars because it is very sturdy and a good hand rail mounting option without having to weld on a plate.

We've been using this mount for a full season now. We bought it for our manual Cannon downrigger and has been working great. Love that the mount it made of solid metal, very reliable.Bout a previous mount that was plastic made and immediately broke when we put a 10 Lbs. weight on. We now have a 10 and 12 point weight and have had zero issues. Great mount and seems like it will last for years!

This base mount is sturdy and fit my need for a down-rigger mount

The holes on the top of the mount are threaded, which is very nice. This mount works great for my trolling motor on Boston Whaler railing; via a custom 1/4 inch thick aluminum plate. The plastic tubes, found in the box, are to be placed over the railing as a cushion; so mount does not scratch railing.

This is our second one we’ve purchased. One for each downrigger. We love that these attach to the bars on the boat perfectly. One has been on for 1.5years and the 2nd for only a few months but both are holding up great. Not one complaint! Would definitely recommend and buy again.
