Great solution for my expanding eReader needs.
An early adopter of Kindle in 2007 (I still have it.) I have owned most Kindle variations. my beloved Oasis (final edition) was my go to device. However, I wanted to try a few other eBook environments. The M7 allows me to do just that with ease, Kindle, Nook, Libby, hoopla, Google, and others. My favorite reader app has turned out to be Readera Premium, which detects any newly arrived books on my micro SD based library that I keep backed up and manage with calibre.Startup from fully off takes about the same on either device. Startup from idle is also about the equal. With the M7 there was an initial setup hill to surmount, aided by YouTube videos and the Reddit eReader sub. Mostly to get matching functions for the two physical side buttons, refresh rates, and paper color. All told the M7 for me is about 90% of my Oasis in functionality, that missing 10% is easily overshadowed by the rather large removable storage and the ability to participate in alternate eReader universes.
