It Happened on 5th Avenue

Amazing , came accross this dvd I didnt know what to expect, but certainly wasnt dissapointed , im not even going to wait until next Christmas to watch it again, a wonderful wee find ... and in comparrison to another well known christmas film I purchased at the same time,I was able to watch this one, no need for checking " region" .... would give Iit more than 5* if I could .

Saw this movie many years ago and loved it then as much as I did today. Lovely old fashioned movie.

I first saw the end of this movie on Channel 4 late one night over Christmas, the only place I could find the DVD was Amazon so I bought it. It's got to be one of my favourite movies of all time.

Good value for a great DVD.

'It happened on 5th Avenue' was one of those films that I caught one afternoon near Christmas and was really surprised by it.It's the story of Mister Aloysius T. McKeever, who contrary to everyone's opinion, is not a multi-millionaire living in a huge mansion on New York's Fifth Avenue, in spite of the fact that it certainly looks like it.This is a good old-fashioned Christmas feel-good film and I highly recommend it.The only reason that I only give it three-stars is that the DVD is advertised as Region 2, and is therefore more expensive that the Region 1 version (which will only play in the U.S.).However when it arrived I was concerned that it is actually a Region 1 and as such will only play on dual version DVD Players.Fortunately when we set it up it played brilliantly and as our DVD player isn't a 'dual' version I can only assume that it is actually a Region 2 DVD.Other than that, the standard and quality are excellent. So if you get a chance buy this film, it'll certainly brighten up any Christmas.

I saw this on TV once and love it. The video is in black and white and is a wonderful, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant lovely story from a much simpler time.

A Gem of a great old movie ! If you like old movies, you will love this one. It's a Christmas movie and a regular season movie with a great message to people of good will.

Guardaba buen recuerdo de esta película, vista en mi infancia y verla en la actualidad me confirma en que es una excelente comedia, muy agradable. Es una edición bastante buena y buena fotografía. Incorpora también subtítulos en francés. El inglés, con ayuda de los subtítulos, se entiende bastante, además, entonces los actores hablaban con claridad, vocalizando y sin susurros "realistas" Muy recomendable para los amantes de las comedias de la época.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies and one of only a few that I have ever purchased. It is especially enjoyable to watch with other people and laugh out loud. Good clean fun!

Arrived fast. Looked for it for years. It didn't age well, but reminds us of a better time.
