Great but not perfect
First off I want to state the knife itself is fantastic. I am not a tracker knife fan. They always look like something you'd buy at a gas station. That being said I do really like this mainly due to the size. I have tiny hands so I'm always looking for knives that work for me. And while I do like the knife, it's the sheath I do not care for. Kydex sheaths are hit and miss for me and unfortunately this is a miss. It's way too big for what is. I think it would be better if it was trimmed to have a thinner sheath. People complain about it being snug in the sheath. I didn't find that to be the case. It definitely isn't slipping out, but it's not that hard to do pull it out. Overall I love the knife, but am not a fan of the sheath. Definitely still recommend picking it up. Especially if you like tracker knives and have small hands.

Knife is good, everything else is..
So the knife itself is very nice sharp and durable, a little on the small side but no big deal. The sheath isn't too bad, holds the knife securely but isn't super difficult to remove. The issues with this set is that the flint sits very loosely in the little leather loop provided, and the 1 of the screws provided to attach the belt clip to the sheath has no thread, rendering the clip useless. Overall, the knife is the star here and it's pretty nice so for that I would recommend but if you're looking for the whole package, I would not recommend.

Great utility knife
Great craftsmanship. Solid material. Knife comes sharp and ready to use. Handle is a little small for people with big hands.

Ridiculously well-packaged, high quality, razor sharp, “tracker” style neck knife.
This is my second knife from Holtzman’s Gorilla. Just like my first, this knife instantly impressed with its ridiculously good packaging, involving a large, attractive magnetic box containing a well-oiled blade and the crapload of accessories, up to an allen wrench (for attaching a belt clip to the sheath). This level of packaging makes these knives very giftable. It seems like a lot of my fellow Vine reviewers have gotten this knife “just because”, are not familiar with the “neck knife” concept and how it’s supposed to work. The Kydex sheath, designed to be worn around your neck on paracord, is supposed to be very tight and hold the knife blade up. You don’t want this razor-sharp tool to be falling out and potentially hurting you. And yes, as a side effect of this, you do have to use both hands to unsheathe the blade and be extra careful. Such tight retentions might not be as convenient if you decide to carry on your belt, but this blade is designed primarily as a neck knife. Thus, it should be reviewed mainly as such.On to the review: This is a compact, full tang fixed blade neck knife, with the blade shaped and ground in the distinct “tracker knife” style. The blade material is the ubiquitous D2 tool steel. In the past half a decade, this material became associated with budget knives but that doesn’t change the fact that when done right and properly hardened, it’s very good blade steel, widely known for its exceptional edge retention. A lot of cheap generic Chinese knives now use D2 but in my experience, it’s always a crapshoot as to whether it’s the “done right” type of D2. Luckily, these Holtzman’s Gorilla knives do feature the proper kind of D2 blade steel. In my eyes, the only downside to a proper D2 blade is the fact that the material is a not true stainless steel and can rust. However, it’s not nearly as prone to corrosion as “high carbon” steel like Damascus and the extra care that it requires is no big deal. I just make sure to always wipe the blades of my D2 knives and store them with a thin coat of oil. This D2 knife actually comes with a small sheet that warns you about the edge being exceptionally sharp. They weren’t kidding! The term “razor-sharp” get thrown around a lot in knife reviews but might actually apply in this case. This is the sharpest “from the factory” edge that I have ever encountered. The blade is beautifully ground in the classic “tracker” configuration, is nicely polished and very attractive. At first, seeing how small this knife was, I was a bit skeptical as to whether it could serve as a proper “tracker”. However, thanks to good balance and ergonomics (at least for such a compact knife), it does chop and do other “tracker” style tasks surprisingly well. However, compactness inevitably does involve usability compromises. The attractive two-tone G10 scaled handle on this knife is shaped as ergonomically as possible but it does only offer enough room for a three-finger grip. It is a very good three-finger grip but will always be inherently inferior to the full grip on a larger knife. Nevertheless, for neck-knife, the ergos here are very nice. This knife does come with an optional belt clip that can be attached to the sheath and be carried that way. Personally, when I belt carry, I always go with something larger, but I can see how others might want to carry a knife this size. The only issue with that would be the tight retention.Anyway, I really like this little neck knife and am happy to have it in my collection. It has a very good price/quality ratio overall. Also, Holtzman’s Gorilla seems to offer a very good warranty, which is always a big plus. Highly recommended!
