Instant fuzz
I built a rat clone, decided to change the 1n4148 clipping diodes with these ones and I got a sweet fuzz sound after that. I don't know how to check if it's real Germanium or not, but they gave me the effect that I needed.

Great for guitar pedals
I'm not sure if these are real germanium but they seem to operate like they are. Great for guitar pedals , I have a bunch of standards silicon ones but these usually sound better or at least give me other options when trying them out

Lower Vf than germanium, but higher capacitance than germanium
These diodes will have a greater performance than germanium diodes in crystal radio sets. They also have a four times greater capacitance, though, and that could be a problem in some other specialized applications. I took off only one star because these are Schottky type, silicon, diodes -- not germanium diodes and I don't like misleading product descriptions. Should have said 1N34 equivalent, Schottky diodes, or similar, and not mentioned germanium. I measured 0.20 volts forward voltage at 1mA on the one I did measure and 6pf of capacitance. Very good.
