best bang for the buck for earphones ever!
First off, I'm not a reviewer type of person. That being said....I have problems with finding earphones that fit my ears, that stay in place while running, that also sound good and don't break the wallet. This by far was the best 15$ I've spent. My expectations were a tad on the low side but since my last pair sucked, tinny, hurt my ears, then the left ear piece went dead because of wiring, I had to get something. My ear canal is smaller on my left side (for whatever reason), but these things fit like a glove. 1st time ever. These things sound amazing. Huge bass when seated in the ear all the way, like surround sound for the brain. They don't jump all over and make that annoying popping sound because of the movement when jogging. The cable has a shirt clip which I'm guessing really helps on the popping since it helps the cable to not jump around. Comfortable. This is day 2 of my typical 5mile run and so far, so good! If I have any problems, I'll add to this review if possible. But so far, these are better than my over the ear, earphones that I wear at home. I highly recommend! ...so far

UPDATED: Good Earbuds for price
UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am updating this review that I had initially submitted. Approximately 8 months after I bought these (Sep. 2023), the right earbud stopped working all the sudden. I could jiggle and hold the volume control and the sound would come back, but that was not an option. Therefore, I contacted Avantree Support and let them know what happened. They responded by email within 24 hours (other responses for the Support Incident were even quicker than that), and indicated they would send me a new set at no charge as they were still under warranty and provided clear instructions on how to order the new ones. The new ones arrived yesterday, 05/28/24 and they work like a charm. I am still very satisfied with the earbuds, and the professional customer service provided by Avantree. I still feel these are a very good value for the price, given the way they handled replacing the original defective set. ORIGINAL: I have had these Avantree E171 - Sports Earbuds Wired with Microphone for about 3 weeks now and I mainly use these on the treadmill when I run. I have found these to be more than adequate for that purpose. I previously bought Koss $6 headphones for the same purpose but I found those didn't last long enough before one of the earpieces would just go dead. With the Avantree, I can see that for the price, they are a little better made and the wiring is a little stronger. They don't seem flimsy at all, and the earbuds themselves and the portion that fits on your ears seem to be sturdy. They fit on my ears nicely enough with the loops and they do not bother me with or without glasses. They come with the middle size eartips attached, but I did find that when I run on the treadmill, they seemed to jump around a little, so I put on the larger ones. (The earbuds come with 3 sizes of eartips). The eartips are a little hard to get off and get the new ones on but you just need to grab the main part of the earbud and grab the base of the eartip and twist and pull a little to take it off, then work the new one on to the stem by working the opening of the eartip on the stem and pushing down and twisting a little. I have dexterity issues with my hands and I still got them on and off in about a minute. As far as the sound, these are not bass heavy at all, but that is fine (especially for the price) as the music I listen to doesn't have much bass (such as with rap and some rock), but I found there is enough bass where needed, and they provide a nice rich, melodic sound without being "tinny" at all. In addition, although they do not have built-in noise cancelling functionality, I find that with the larger eartips when I am on the treadmill in our community fitness room, I do not hear the lady that babbles on loudly and continuously :). Thank You Avantree! I have not tried these with a cell phone, so I can't speak to using with that. But, I have tried these on an iPod shuffle, an iPod touch and an iPad. The product listing here under "Before You Buy, Please Note That..." notes: "The built-in volume control does not work on PC, laptop, or iOS MP3 players, and the volume up button does not work on the Pixel 3A and Galaxy A9, S10, and Note 9 (it'll activate Google Assistant instead)." I will verify the in-cord volume control and the pause button does not work on the iPod shuffle, but I found they DO work on the iPod Touch and my iPad. Seems to be a bit of a bonus. Overall, I think they are worth the price and provide a set of nice sounding wired earbuds.

For the price, pretty good.
Good sound, for the price. I don't think they're as comfortable as the phones without the horizontal strap thing holding the earpieces. You get used to it after a bit, though. They stay in place when you're out walking, running, mowing the lawn or whatever. So, perfectly acceptable. And the cord does seem a little heavier gauge than most, so maybe more durable. That's what kills every set of wired earbuds, one side or the other gets a break in the tiny wiring. I don't know if the actual wire is any thicker gauge, but the plastic coating seems to be.

good, reliable, inexpensive
These work well for me as the corded back-up to my bluetooth ear buds (if they run out of juice). BUT, if you do carry them, they need to go into a HARD case carrier, else the ear bud segment will split from the body if crushed by the other stuff you're carrying.

Perfect Fit for My 9-Year-Old!
I bought the Avantree E171 wired earbuds for my 9-year-old, and she absolutely loves them! They fit her ears perfectly thanks to the ear hook design, which keeps them secure and comfortable—even when she’s moving around. The sound quality is great for music and videos, and the in-line volume control is easy for her to use. Plus, the microphone works well for calls and online learning. These are a fantastic option for kids who need reliable, well-fitting earbuds. Highly recommend

Decent $15 headphones
I use these exclusively for when I go running. I usually run 8-12 miles & have the headphones in to listen to podcasts. I've logged probably 10+ runs & 100+ miles over the past few months in these headphones and they are finally starting to show a little bit of wear and tear. For my first few runs, the headphones sounded/worked great. Now, when I plug them in to my Samsung Galaxy S9, sometimes they somehow try to click apps on my phone. I have no idea how or why they do this, but the only time my phone acts up is when I have these plugged in. If I can start my podcasts & then just lock my phone before things start acting up, then the headphones perform fine. Once I get going, the headphones do fine (with the phone locked). They don't really fall out & they still sound pretty good. Around the same time the headphones started making my phone act weird, the microphone on the headset also stopped working. Doesn't really bother me because I don't use them for calls anyways, but it stinks that i can't use the mic if i wanted to. As far as I'm concerned, the sound quality on them is still great, but I only listen to audiobooks & podcasts so I don't really need thumping bass & all that. Overall, I wish these had lasted longer, but I didn't expect much out of a set of $15 headphones. I also echo the other reviewers that wish the cord was a bit longer. I'm 6'3" and keep my phone in my pocket while I run. The cord length is not a deal breaker here, but another 6-12 inches of cord would have been great. Rated them 3 stars considering the price and taking into consideration the issues I have had with them thus far after only a few months of usage.

Comfy Quality Earbuds
At first, I thought the price was steep. However, I found the earbuds were of high quality and has a long cord for accessibility. They are sleek and modern. Although they are not Bluetooth, they are seamless and modern-looking. They are also very lightweight so they won't weigh down one's ears. The price is very reasonable; I have used earbuds before, and these are very comfortable and work very well.

Working Well so far!
I work as a call center assistant and since this quarantine I have been working at home. I normally always wear wireless earphones, but with the program we use at work and using remote computer from home, wireless makes the calls choppy. I needed to find some wired headphones to go with my iphone X. I got these hoping they would work well for my work and I am pleasantly surprised. Especially for the price! I have been using them for a few days now, for 8 hrs straight. I have been told by others on the phone that the mic is working well, I am coming through very clear - so no issues at all there. I can hear everyone fine, the sound quality is actually really great and they fit me well and are very comfortable. For me, I need the type of headphones that either go fully around the head or wrap around the ear. The little earbud type and air-pods always continuously fall out of my ear. With these, I can comfortably work at my desk, move and look around, the earphones don't fall out. The wrap around isn't rigid, but that might make more comfortable. I don't have any issues with discomfort. I also wear glasses while reading and working on the computer and they fit well with my glasses. So I do recommend these, so far so good. I haven't had any issues yet with them.
