I have had continual problems with dog nail clippers. Some were not sharp enough, even when new, to do any more than crush the nails, requiring repeated attempts to clip the ends off. My 2 dogs are elderly, 40 & 50 lbs. and while they are pretty tolerant of having their nails clipped, they get impatient if each nail takes an inordinate amount of time to finish. Another problem I have had was the center spring jumping out. This happened with the very first clip with the last pair I had. This time, I did a lot of research, especially as to previous buyers' feedback, and this Unkie pair seemed to have the best track record. These are a nice, sturdy pair of clippers and sharply clipped each nail cleanly off on the first try. The center spring is pretty well enclosed & doesn't look like it is going to just jump right out like some previous pairs. Some of the nails are black, so the guard is very helpful in not taking off too much. Because my previous clippers were so hard to use or broke, my dogs' nails had gotten way too long. Since this pair has such a good guard, I am going to just take off a little each week so that the vein moves back. There are very clear instructions on the back of the package and that helps a lot. They also come in a nice little storage bag that I can just hang on the laundry room door. So far, I am very happy with these clippers. They are the best ones I have had so far in years of having dogs.

I just barely opened my packaged and tried them out. I love them. They are sturdy and easy on my hands as well as my fur babies nails. The box has the best instructions too. Well worth a purchace.

Finally nail clippers that don't scare my dog! I've been so gun shy to try another pair out that I was planning on taking my dog to a groomer. These are more durable and sharper than most that i have used, and they have a guard on them to prevent over cutting. They are not as loud either, which was another reason that my dog didn't like other clippers. I would definitely recommend!

I have two large dogs with very thick nails. As such we have had a problem with nail clippers breaking or being too wimpy to handle their nails. Upon receiving the Unkies nail clipper, I was impressed with the sturdiness (solid like a good pair of pliers) and it has a nice comfort grip. The clippers are worked fantastic! The nail file is a nice added bonus. HIGHLY RECOMMEND these clippers!

So, this dog nail clipper is good for small-medium sized dogs. I have a large 65 lb lab mix with the hardest nails ever. I cannot grasp the clippers so the snip is easy and quick. I have to use two hands to make the snip which means I cannot hold/control the dog’s paw.

I bought these clippers based on a friends recommendation who happens to be a professional dog groomer. They work amazingly, I have 3 dogs and a cat. I love the fact that it has a locking mechanism which prevents it from opening all the way. Even with it in the locked position there's a gap big enough to clip my cat's nail and my chihuahua's nails. When I used it on my Lab, I release the locking mechanism to open them all the way. It is a little hard to unlock it but is see that as a positive thing since I have a 2-year old that loves grabbing everything.

These are awesome clippers. I have a medium sized dog and they cut his nails with no problem at all. I LOVE the safety gaurd. I feel comfortable cutting his nails but that safety feature makes it that much easier knowing I won't cut him. The only thing I wish was the nail file was a little bigger it's a little hard to hold onto but I wont let it affect my review because I bought this for the clippers which are amazing. Dont hesitate buying this product its great honestly.
