Goodbye Tru-Spec Hello LA Police Gear!
I have been buying and wearing Tru-Spec cargo type pants for the last 15 years or so. The last pair I bought retailed for $100 and I only purchased them when I could find them at a rare 50% off discount. These LAPG pants are very similar and cost almost HALF of what I spent on Tru-Specs when I bought them at half price! Now for the differences: these pants are made of a lighter material (good in summer but you might need an under layer in the winter), they have fewer belt loops (a serious consideration if you wear a loaded tactical belt), and the button/zipper/velcro all seem to be of a slightly lower grade. But they are comfortable, wash and wear well, and have no glaring defects for everyday civilian use. So basically, if you want something like Tru-Spec tactical pants but don't want to pay Tru-Spec prices, give LA Police Gear a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Comfortable and lightweight as advertised.
I've worn the pants out several times over the last month now and it fits well. The 30x32 holds the equipment I need and I can access them quickly. The pen holder section is particularly handy for my Leatherman foldable scissors as the clip end seats well on it. I have had good wear from them so far and hope to continue using them until my needs change. If that happens, LA Police Gear will be one of the first place I look to upgrade.

Quality Seems To Be There
After doing some internet research on which brands of tactical pants were best, I picked a couple brands and tried them. These LAPD pants were among those recommended. They seem to be made well. Fabric is comfortable. I will say that these seem to be running a slight bit smaller (tighter) than my favorites, but I'm not sure that I would go up a size either.I haven't had them long enough to comment on wear and tear, but I don't suspect that will be an issue. They seem well made. All in all, I'll stick with my CQRs.

My new favorite pants!
These pants are amazingly comfortable, roomy pockets for all my gear, and partially stretchy waist. My only word of advice is these are labeled “water repellent”, but the water doesn’t bead as you would think. Rather I would call these pants “rapid dry” because they do absorb a little liquid but they dry in minutes. I love them and I’m going to order some other colors.

Very comfortable and rugged pants
I bought 3 pair back in 2021, lost one pair but still have dark blue and black. I wear the black ones about 60% of the time to work and they have held up very well. I like the extra pockets to carry my glucose meter, glasses, Smarties for low sugar and clip type knife for various activities (mostly opening boxes at work). Most pants would have been worn out by this time, but these are still in good shape.

I want to love these, however...
These pants are extremely comfortable and fit perfectly. The material is very lightweight and breaths well keeping my cool an comfortable all day long. Unfortunately they have a critical design flaw which makes them nearly unusable as duty/tactical pants....There aren't enough belt loops. If you wear a duty belt, or anything else that attaches to your belt/waist, these pants will have a hard time staying in place. My duty belt pushes the pants down, under the belt. This causes them to bunch up and my belt to rub against bare skin and/or underwear/shirt that used to be tucked into the pants. It's all a lot of words to say, these pants would be 5 star perfect if there had been at least 2 more belt loops at the back. No pair of "tactical" or work pants, larger than a 34" waist and meant to be worn with a belt, should ever have less than 7 belt loops.I have had these pants a little over a month now, worn them 2 or 3 days a week, washed them as instructed no more than 4 or 5 times. But the material in the crotch/between the thighs is starting to discolor/turn white. Also, yesterday while getting ready for work, the button at the front randomly came unstiched. Not poped off, not broke loose... just unstitched itself and fell off. Very disappointed in that. Easy fix for sure. But still sucks.

Great material!
I wanted a lightweight pant for an upcoming Elk hunting trip to New Mexico in the high desert. These are water resistant, tough, roomy pockets and fit true to size. A great find.

Quality sewing and material.
Bought 34x32 and found the 32” inseam fit long on me. Returned and ordered 34x30 and if proportions are the same they should be great. Also ordered one more style that appears to be a slimmer fit. Good everyday pants.

Pantalón demasiado ancho
La tela y el diseño son muy cómodos pero el pantalón es demasiado ancho con respecto a la talla.
