Southworth 100% Cotton Thesis Paper, 8.5” x 11”, 20 lb/75 GSM, Wove Finish, White, 250 Sheets - Packaging May Vary (35-120-10)

I don't know why the negative reviews. This is the second printing of my Dissertation. The first was on decent paper. I received Magna Cum Laude, so I wanted a paper that would last. I'm having a leather hardback binding of my Dissertation made and the bookbinding company told me I picked one of the best papers. They said this paper will last for a 100 years at least, if not much longer. The texture, color, and quality is much better than I expected. I definitely recommend it for your Thesis or Dissertation if you want it laser printed find a professional printing company.

All three boxes of paper I received had at least 30-50 sheets crushed on at least one corner due to very poor (actually extremely poor) packaging by Amazon. The undersized box in which my three heavy boxes of paper were shipped and the lack of protection for the boxes of paper themselves resulted in the damage. I did not send them back because of my immediate need for the paper, but now I have to order at least one more box as replacement. It does not take a rocket scientist to see what was going to happen in transit with such poor packaging. Good thing Amazon doesn't design something critical like baby seats for cars. The paper is great, but I would count on at least 10% damaged sheets if purchased through Amazon. I buy lots from Amazon and this was my worst disappointment with them to date.

I saw the previous feedback from a customer stating this product was not as described ('Fraud alert') after placing my order. I had ordered 3 boxes of 'exceptional thesis paper'. When the boxes arrived, I thoroughly checked each box to make sure the paper was what I had ordered (I randomly took out sheets within the reams). All the paper was as described under product description (it was not copy paper) and all boxes contained only paper embedded with the Southworth watermark within the sheets stating they are 100% cotton.

This paper is wonderful. Print and images look good, and the paper has a nice feel to it. One potential problem that you absolutely must be aware of is that the position of the watermarks is different from page to page. If you are printing color images in your document, you will need to go through every page and check if the image was printed on top of a watermark. If so, you will likely need to reprint that page. The watermarks are interfering with the quality of printed images and is particularly noticeable in regions of solid color.

My use of this wonderful paper is not typical. I am a bead embroiderer and use this paper as a stabilizer for my work. I selected this paper because it is lighter in weight than most other acid-free paper and is therefore much easier to perforate with my beading needle (which is much kinder to the pads of my finger tips), and the lighter paper 'handles' well too. There is a visible watermark which is inconsequential for my needs as the paper functions as a backing to my fabric. The 100% cotton paper also enhances the longevity of my completed work. I am VERY happy with my purchase.

Packaged in a sturdy box to protect the paper. Final step in doctoral work. Ordered through Amazon as my local FEDEX did not stock this paper which is exactly what was required by my Seminary.

I use this for my capstone. Not really sure what it was supposed to feel like but it’s thinner than resume paper in my opinion. You can see the difference between this and regular printer paper though.

The box came in good condition, only one paper was bent. Used the paper for my masters thesis.
