I am using an older sata 3.5 drive. It can draw power from the c connection and it comes with its own power supply which plugs in. I am using a C connection for power and not the power supply . When plugged into the power supply my screen flickered rythmically and I had it plugged into the same power strip as my monitor and laptop with powered speakers all on the same circuit. After providing its own plug in it hasn't flickered since. Maybe some sort of spike or fluctuation in power when sharing a power strip. I use it for a sata drive with my games on that drive. Haven't tried the ssd, m.2 nvme yet I'm sure it will work fine. Good value for the price I paid.
