Great Wireless CarPlay option
This is a great wireless adapter that is easy to use, easy to plug up, and easy to mount into your car so it is out of the way with an included 3M strip. Love the way it creates a seamless experience with very minimal delay between using the CarPlay features on your phone (such as stopping audio, which is only less than a second delay). I would say that it works 99% of the time without issue and only needs to be reset every so often to get connected, and that is as easy as pulling it out of the USB and plugging it back in. My only slight negative feedback (that wasn't worth docking a star) is the occasional glitch with a certain app between the wireless function and my iPhone. Usually happens with Google Maps when it doesn't sync correctly and loses where I am on the GPS. It has only happened a time or two, so not worth docking it. Another small thing that I think has more to do with Apple than this device is the auto-play music feature from the Music app...not sure why Apple can't fix that to completely turn that off! So be prepared that when your phone auto-connects to the device, it will play a song or podcast without you knowing! I also unplug mine sometimes when I exit the car because it will stay powered on and keep "playing" the music in my car, even when I don't hear it. Again, small things that aren't the device's fault - more my car or Apple. Again, great product and totally recommend!

Changed my opinion, I would not purchase...
January 2024 - I just bought a new car that had only wired Apple CarPlay capability. This little device installed in about a minute, seriously, and worked without issue at all. The instructions are short but accurate. Works great! I highly recommend.. I'm going to buy a second for my motorcycle!! 6/11/24 - Continued, I have had three (3) of these units and what I can say is that they do not last. The first one failed a week or two after purchase and was replaced by the vendor. The replacement just failed after a few months. One is still working, in my motorcycle, thankfully. When they fail, they appear to be working but will not connect to Carplay. Carplay sees the unit and it connected to it via USB, the phone sees the unit and is connected via Bluetooth but the car screen gets nothing other than the name of the dongle. I would avoid these... I just went with a hopefully better product, but we shall see as they say.

Solid adapter
This adapter works great, very small so I was able to simply double sided tape it to the console of the Kia Carnival 2024. Haven’t had many issues with it, it connects very quickly. The main annoyance I have is that in the Kia carnival specifically, maybe others I don’t know, if your phone is not set to connect to CarPlay the car still defaults to CarPlay input bc it detects the input and the screen is just black with a CarPlay message. Probably more of a Kia problem than this adapter, but it is what it is. My wife’s phone is set for CarPlay however and the connection works great. Definitely recommend.

Product works but auto Bluetooth connection even while car off is annoying
It DOES work. At first I ran into the same issue as all the other reviewers here that said they were getting a black screen with a symbol on it and stating “not connected.” But probably much like those individuals, I failed to read the instructions and after doing so realized you have to connect to BOTH Bluetooth AND WiFi that is titled smart-dongle or something like that. It connects pretty quickly, and is fits well in my central compartment. The ONE caveat and real irk I have is the fact that your phone will connect to the device once you are close to the car (even outside) REGARDLESS of whether it is on or not. This means if you are on a call and headed to your car, you may lose your audio/mic connection because suddenly it’s within the device’s range of Bluetooth. Similarly, I am used to my call automatically switching to my phone from CarPlay after I turn off my car but unfortunately that is not the case. It stays connected even after you turn off your car and you have to manually switch it to your phone or speaker audio. Even after manually doing it, I’ve had it switch back if I am grabbing something from the trunk and headed back to the front of the car. I came back here to leave this review because it’s annoyed me a couple times already and I wish there was some easy way to fix it. Besides that, it’s a good product that works!

Works in 2018 VW Tiguan
The setup was easy—plug into the car's USB port, connect to the phone, and done. Instructions were straightforward to follow. The speed of starting up once connected was fast enough. This time depends on your car's speed to launch and start Car Play as the device connects to that once it is launched. In my case, it was about 5 sec. If I unlocked the car as soon as I could, the device would start connecting to the vehicle, as this reduces the time it is available once I get into the car to drive. After using this for over a month, I have experienced the device losing connection 5 times. The first 4 were during a long road trip across very rural areas where cell connection was very weak. It seems like Bluetooth was affected by this and lost signal. Maybe my phone was roaming too much, and that caused Bluetooth to time out. Regardless, this device auto-connected after 10 seconds. The last time it lost connection was because I started the car and started driving without waiting for the vehicle's Car Play to launch. I had to unplug and re-plug the device to connect it. Overall, this device works for my needs. There are others with fancy options like playing your streaming movies on your car's screen, etc., but I do not need nor want this. Also, most of those have lip-sync issues due to the lag in Bluetooth. These devices cost almost double what I paid. I am happy with this purchase as it will tie me over until I get a newer car with built-in wireless Car Play.
