VELUX Original Roof Window Anti-Heat Awning Blind for CK06, C06, CK04, C04, 6, CK02, C02, CK01, C01, 9

This product was used to reduce the heat and glare from two Velux roof windows - the roof has been converted to a bedroom for our grandsons in France. Immediately the blinds were installed, you could feel the difference. I am so pleased that as soon as we return home, I shall order four more. The quality of the product is exceptional and my husband had no difficulty affixing them. Having seen the quality of the blinds, we shall also measure up for the anti- mosquito frames. Genuinely delighted with this product and can thoroughly recommend them.

We live in a two storey townhouse and have five Velux windows on our top floor. In the summer months, the top floor becomes unbearably hot and we had to invest in a portable air conditioner just to cope. These Velux anti-heat blinds are absolutely brilliant in helping keep temperatures down. They cite that they block up to 80% of the suns rays and can cool a room down by up to 4 degrees and I’d say that sounds legitimate from my experience. It’s been much more comfortable in our house since we installed these blinds and we can still see outside perfectly fine too. They can be retrofitted to any Velux blind as they fit into pre-existing slots or use existing screws. Brilliant product, especially for the price.

These blinds are easy to install, they work very well on keeping the heat out during sunny days. In the winter they can be un-hooked and rooled up while still beigin fitted to the window so they can be re used next summer.

Ordered this blind as the summer months have always been far hotter in the loft bedroom. Arrived quickly and was installed in less than 10 minutes.The difference is noticeable. the window used to act like a heater in the mid-day sun you could feel the heat radiating from it. now its cool to the touch and that reflects in the temperature of the room.

Had a dormer built at the start of year with 2 south facing velux windows. On the couple of days this year it wasn't raining, the internal temperature went over 31. Was way too hot. Figured due to all the insulation, the heat comes through velux windows and the insulation helps it stays hot which is hard to cool. These shades stop the heat build up in the first place. Now need not raining day to test.

I fitted blackout blinds at the same time and, combined, they had a dramatic effect in cooling down my loft room. A welcome bonus was that the awning blinds also muffle the noise that heavy rain makes on my roof windows. As my loft is a bedroom, the muting of light is not an issue although these blinds can be raised (but this means pivotting the windows to unhook them).

Really happy with these. My loft is absolutely BOILING when the the sun is out to the point it was unbearable. These have definitely made a difference to the overall temperature of the room on these days without having to cover the windows completely so you can’t see outside - I would really recommend. Great idea, easy to put up (once you work out what the almost unintelligible instructions mean!) and really adds shade to the room.
