I ordered a pair size 9 and I should have ordered an 8. Size is not true.

They don't feel as wide as they look. Size up because they feel a bit snug in the toe area. If you like your shoes to fit perfectly get your exact size.

Q: Are these good for hiking?

No, very light weight but only for walking.
