Works well as a skin barrier. Product was recommended by a home health nurse.

I was using Smith & Nephew #59420600 no-sting skin-prep, box of 50 (Amazon), which the packet can drip and leave a sticky cleanup on the bathroom counter. The Cavilon uses a spongy application pad which is less likely to drip making the Cavilon less messy to use. Plus the application pad is ever so slightly larger than the "Smith" brand. On the downside, the Cavilon cost is 24 cents more expensive per use the "Smith" brand. I would recommend the Cavilon wipes over the "Smith" brand product due to it being less messy to put to use.
